Week 5 Power Rankings 2014-2015

*Teams can only move up or down five spots week to week

1(1)-Seattle Seahawks-(2-1)-Seattle will go into a Monday Night game facing a Washington team that just threw 4 interceptions.

2(2)-Denver Broncos-(2-1)-With Tom Brady looking very poor, Peyton Manning is getting solidification as the eras best QB.

3(3)-Arizona Cardinals-(3-0)-Arizona gets off the bye week facing an also fresh off the bye Broncos...can you say GAME OF THE WEEK?

4(4)-Cincinnati Bengals-(3-0)-The top 4 teams all had a bye this week...interesting!

5(6)-San Diego Chargers-(3-1)-The Chargers look like early contenders and are on a roll!

6(8)-San Francisco 49ers-(2-2)-The 49ers got a much needed win, but there is still some trouble in paradise as reports are coming in that the players want Jim Harbaugh out.

7(5)-Philadelphia Eagles-(3-1)-This is what happens when all your prior wins have been comebacks.

8(12)-Detroit Lions-(3-1)-You would have been nuts to honestly think the Lions would be in 1st place in their division at the end of the first quarter of the season.

9(14)-Indianapolis Colts-(2-2)-The Colts have another 40+ point win for a 2 game winning streak to get their season back on track. The problem is it's been against teams they should be blowing out.

10(15)-Baltimore Ravens-(3-1)-The Ravens have really shut up Moshe Football so far this season.

11(10)-Carolina Panthers-(2-2)-The Panthers are on a losing streak right now but still are in a prime spot to take over their division.

12(7)-New England Patriots-(2-2)-Okay. Now it is time to panic.

13(13)-Green Bay Packers-(2-2)-The Packers showed the NFC North why they've been the top of the class for awhile with a win on Sunday.

14(9)-Atlanta Falcons-(2-2)-Destroy the Buccaneers but then get destroyed by the Vikings. How does that work?!

15(11)-Chicago Bears-(2-2)-Moving down like this after a loss isn't because the Bears are bad, but it is just a matter of some technicalities.

16(19)-Dallas Cowboys-(3-1)-The Cowboys stand at 3-1 with their only loss to the 49ers. If there is a surprise Superbowl winner this year, the Cowboys are them.

17(20)-Houston Texans-(3-1)-J.J Watt is quickly becoming the defensive player of the year favorite.

18(22)-Kansas City Chiefs-(2-2)-The Chiefs are now on a two game winning streak with a convincing win last night against New England.

19(23)-New York Giants-(2-2)-The NFC East is quickly becoming the most interesting division to watch this season.

20(17)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(2-2)-Tough loss for the Steelers, losing to the team many see as possibly the worst one, minus Jacksonville or Oakland.

21(16)-New Orleans Saints-(1-3)-The Saints are lucky they are in the NFC South or they would very likely have a loss season now.

22(19)-New York Jets-(1-3)-The Jet have had a tough schedule so far, but their three game losing streak is making both Geno Smith's and Rex Ryan's job pretty insecure.

23(21)-Buffalo Bills-(2-2)-The AFC East is also becoming a quite interesting and wide open division.

24(24)-Cleveland Browns-(2-2)-The Browns stay put in the ranking after a bye week.

25(25)-Miami Dolphins-(2-2)-Despite a win, not much credit will be given this week to the Dolphins as the win came against the Raiders.

26(28)-Minnesota Vikings-(2-2)-Teddy Bridgewater had a good game and looks to not have a serious injury to his foot.

27(26)-Tennessee Titans-(1-3)-The Titans are quickly falling behind.

28(27)-Washington Redskins-(1-3)-After Thursday night's loss, Kirk Cousins in still giving RGIII fans something to complain about.

29(29)-St. Louis Rams-(1-2)-St. Louis' season gets even unluckier as they will now be facing an Eagles' team after their first loss of the season.

30(32)-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(1-3)-Tampa Bay is out of the crap pile with their first win of the season.

31(30)-Oakland Raiders-(0-4)-Once again these last teams with out a win can be interchangeable.

32(31)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(0-4)-The Jaguars and Raiders are fighting for first place...of the draft.

Week 4 Monday Night Football 2014-2015

A preview of this week's Monday game.

New England Patriots at Kansas City Chiefs

Tom Brady is having a career low 58.8% completion percentage. However, it is not time to panic as the Patriots are 2-1 and right in the mix of their division. New England also has the benefit of playing the Chiefs who are 1-2, but the Alex Smith led team does not seem to have the same heart as last year when Andy Reid took over. This game will not be close. Bill Belichick is not happy with his team and the critics. This will be the game that gets the Patriots back on track.

Patriots 38, Chiefs 14

Week 4 Thursday Night Football 2014-2015

An early look at this weeks Thursday Night Football.

New York Giants at Washington Redskins

The Eli Manning led Giants take on the Robert Griffin III-less Redskins. The Giants have had a tough time adjusting to their new offense by Ben McAdoo, but seem to be getting pass that. However, the Giants currently rank 22nd in passing and will be facing the number 10 passing defense. The Redskins will once again have Kirk Cousins under center. Cousins has been playing his heart out and it shows with the Redskins currently ranked 3rd in passing. They'll be going against the Giants decent 22nd passing defense. Rashad Jennings had a big game last week rushing for 176 yards, but that was against the Texans. The Redskins are ranked 3rd in opponent rushing yards with 64.7 yards per game average. Alfred Morris should have a good game against the Giants who are ranked 14th in opponent rushing yards. Morris will be the key factor in the game.

Redskins 28, Giants 14

Week 4 Bold Predictions 2014-2015

3 Bold Predictions heading into week 4

1. Adrian Peterson gets reactivated.

The Vikings put Adrian Peterson on the exempt list until his off field legal issues are taken care of. However, after a back and forth week last week on the issue, would it be too crazy to see them go back and forth again?

2. San Francisco 49ers comeback against a double digit deficit to beat the Eagles.

The Eagles have been the comeback kids the past three week with a double digit comeback in all three game. Now it's time to be on the other end of that with a Colin Kaepernick led comeback.

3. Green Bay gets held to one touchdown again.

The Bears are not known for their defense ever since Lovie Smith left, now they are more offensive oriented. Yet, the Packers have not been their usual high-scoring offense (21st in passing yards, 27th in rushing yards.) The Lions did it last week, now it is time for the Bears.

Game and Dog of the Week: Week 4 2014-2015

GAME OF THE WEEK

Philadelphia Eagles at San Francisco 49ers

This game will be quite interesting. The 49ers are a team many had high expectations for coming into the season, but they have been disappointing so far with a losing record of 1-2. The Eagles on the other hand are now 3-0. BUT, they had to comeback in each of their 3 games, even against bad teams. MosheFootball's prediction is the 49ers will get a great double digit lead in the first half. In the second half though, the Eagles are going to comeback to tie it up, but unfortunately for the Eagles, this time they will not be able to pull out the win.

49ers 37, Eagles 34

DOG OF THE WEEK

Miami Dolphins at Oakland Raiders

Unlike last week, this week has much more games to actually choose from for a dog of the week. The Dolphins, and Raiders make the cut. This game will be close, but not because either team is good, but rather because both are just really bad. Derek Carr, the Raider's rookie has similar number to Ryan Tannehill, who is looking like he is on his way out of Miami. The passing game won't be too much of a difference as both team are 29th (Raiders) and 30th (Dolphins) in passing yards, and 4th (Raiders) and 7th (Dolphins) in opponent passing yards. The real advantage will be for the Dolphins in the running game who rank 7th in rushing yards against the Raider's 31st rush defense. Still however, this game seems like the Raider's time to cut that losing streak.

Raiders 21, Dolphins 17

Week 4 Power Rankings 2014-2015

*Teams can only move within 5 spots from week to week.

1(2)-Seattle Seahawks-(2-1)-Everyone knew they would be back in the top spot this week.

2(1)-Denver Broncos-(2-1)-Denver made a great stride to make their game good, but it had the making of a blowout in the beginning.

3(3)-Arizona Cardinals-(3-0)-"My stats stink, and I don't care" said Drew Stanton to Peter King. He's right, because they are still winning football games.

4(4)-Cincinnati Bengals-(3-0)-They remain the only undefeated team in the AFC.

5(7)-Philadelphia Eagles-(3-0)-Interesting fact, the Eagles are the only team in history to start 3-0 while trailing by double digits in each of their games.

6(9)-San Diego Chargers-(2-1)-It would not be a stretch to say they are truly the best team in the AFC West.

7(10)-New England Patriots-(2-1)-It seems like the Patriots have been in the top ten for the least 10 years.

8(5)-San Francisco 49ers-(1-2)-The 49ers have had a tough early schedule, but this team is quickly spiraling out of control.

9(13)-Atlanta Falcons-(2-1)-The Falcons made an absolute mockery of the Buccaneers this past Thursday night.

10(6)-Carolina Panthers-(2-1)-Sunday Night Football wasn't very fun to watch this week.

11(15)-Chicago Bears-(2-1)-The Bears just miss out on the top ten.

12(16)-Detroit Lions-(2-1)-The Lions proved themselves well by holding Green Bay only to 7 points.

13(8)-Green Bay Packers-(1-2)-Green Bay drop 4 spots last week, and this week they drop a full five spots.

14(12)-Indianapolis Colts-(1-2)-The Colts get their first win of the season, but it's against a bad team.

15(14)-Baltimore Ravens-(2-1)-The Ravens move down one spot despite a close division win.

16(11)-New Orleans Saints-(1-2)-The Saints got the benefit of seeing an Adrian Peterson-less Vikings team.

17(18)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(2-1)-The Steelers had a really nice outing against the Panthers and never allowed the game to get too close.

18(17)-New York Jets-(1-2)-The Jets only move down one spot despite a loss.

19(22)-Dallas Cowboys-(2-1)-Dan Bailey has made 28 field goals in a row and broke the franchise record.

20(19)-Houston Texans-(2-1)-Houston got handed their first loss this season, and people are now remembering why Ryan Fitzpatrick started out as backup.

21(21)-Buffalo Bills-(2-1)-There was a mistake in last week's power ranking that stated the Bills had a 1-1 record when really they had a 2-0 record.

22(24)-Kansas City Chiefs-(1-2)-The Chiefs saw their first win of the season this week against Miami.

23(25)-New York Giants-(1-2)-Rashad Jennings had 34 carries for 176 yards.

24(28)-Cleveland Browns-(1-2)-It's time to give some credit to Cleveland. They've been right in there for every game.

25(20)-Miami Dolphins-(1-2)-The questions are already coming up if Ryan Tannehill will be the quarterback moving forward.

26(23)-Tennessee Titans-(1-2)-It would not be surprising to see the Titans stay within three spots of their current spot (26) all season long.

27(29)-Washington Redskins-(1-2)-Is it okay to finally admit RGIII is a bust or is it like the Sam Bradford phenomenon of we can never see his potential due to too many injuries?

28(26)-Minnesota Vikings-(1-2)-Reporters are now hypothesizing that Adrain Peterson will never play with the Vikings again.

29(27)-St. Louis Rams-(1-2)-The logistics of how they blew the 21 point lead is still being figured out.

30(31)-Oakland Raiders-(0-3)-The Raiders have the longest current losing streak at 9.

31(32)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(0-3)-Once again, these last three teams are interchangeable.

32(30)-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(0-3)-They realistically are probably more deserving of the 31st spot but after getting embarrassed like that on national TV against a division foe, it only seem warranted.

Tough Start For Lovie Smith In Tampa Bay

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have officially been the most embarrassed team of the season so far. On Thursday Night Football prime time, the Bucs let up 56 points against the Atlanta Falcons. The problem with the picture is not the the Buccaneers are going through growing pains, but that Lovie Smith is supposed to be a defensive genius. Yes, the Bucs were horrible last year. And yes, the Bucs have players out that include Doug Martin, and Adrian Clayborn. However, the simple fact is that the Buccaneers are not only losing but they are getting embarrassed. Last week, they lost to a third-string QB from St. Louis. Lovie Smith got fired from the Bears for a reason, he kept bringing mediocre seasons to a talented team. This is only the second head coaching job for Lovie Smith, before that he was a defensive coordinator for the Rams. It's only the third week of the season, and Smith's first year in Tampa Bay, but if the Bucs keep losing like they did Thursday night then this could be an interesting off season for Lovie Smith.

Week 3 Monday Night Football 2014-2015

We are previewing tonight's Monday Night game.

Chicago Bears at New York Jets

Both teams stand at 1-1. The Bears lost the first week against the Bills, while the Jets won that week against the lowly Raiders. This past week the Jets almost beat the Packers (who are having major trouble) while the Bears made a comeback win on the back of Brandon Marshall to beat the 49ers. The Bears have the talent, but Rex Ryan is the better coach, and much more seasoned than Marc Trestman.

Jets 28, Bears 24

Cowboys Fight Back To Beat Rams 34-31

The Rams dominated the game in the beginning of the game with a 21 point unanswered opening led by Austin Davis and CB Janoris Jenkins. However, then things went haywire. DeMarco Murray started running all over the Rams and scored a touchdown. Then before the two minute warning, a very bad call against the Rams gave the Cowboys great field goal position to make the game 21-10 at the half. After the half the Cowboys proved to much and won the game.

Cowboy Pros - Dez Bryant's 68 yard touchdown shifted the momentum all the way to the Cowboys.

Cowboy Cons - The lack of running ability from DaMarco Murray at the beginning of the game put the Cowboys in a bad situation.

Ram Pros - For once the offense of the Rams wasn't the problem. Brian Schottenheimer called a very good offensive game.

Rams Cons - Besides for blowing a 21 point lead? Gregg Williams has been a disappointment so far coaching this talented defense. Jared Cook also shoved his QB on the sideline, which is a big no-no.

Player of the Game: Dez Bryant

Week 3 Thursday Night Football

We are previewing tonight's Thursday Night Game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta went big in week one beating the New Orleans Saints, but they lost this past week and now people are wondering how good they really are. Luckily for the Falcons they face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who have played pretty terrible. The Bucs lost last week to a third string QBed Rams team. Matt Ryan threw one yard short of 680 yards so far this season while Josh McCown has thrown for under 400. Tampa Bay only scored touchdowns last week on McCown's two running touchdowns. What will keep the game close is Tampa's running game. Second string running back Bobby Rainey ran for 144 yards in place of absent Doug Martin.

Falcons 24, Buccaneers 21

Week 3 Bold Predictions 2014-2015

Three quick predictions for Week 3.

1. Shaun Hill gets the start for the Rams this week.

Many Ram fans were pleased with Austin Davis' performance this past week as starter (second string) Shaun Hill was sidelined with an injury. However, Jeff Fisher has made it clear Hill will be the starter despite pressure otherwise. Maybe this is due to not starting a QB controversy.

2. Broncos/Seahawks rematch of the Superbowl produces the exact same score.

Last year in the Superbowl, the Seattle Seahawks blew out the Denver Broncos 43-8. Doesn't it seem like that will be the score again?

3. The Cardinals beat the 49ers and hold first place in the division.

Yes, it is still early in the year, but if the Cardinals want to win their division, let alone make the playoffs, this is a marquee game.

Game and Dog of the Week: Week 3 2014-2015

GAME OF THE WEEK

Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks

It only makes sense that the Superbowl rematch is the game of the week. Virtually every power rankings has these two teams placed first and second in the NFL. This game will tell us a lot about the power of the NFL. Peyton Manning hasn't had the same fire he did early last season but Richard Sherman was "exposed" by Philip Rivers last week. The Broncos were know for their offense last year, the Seahawks were known for their defense. However, both teams improved their game on the other side of the ball. But, the edge has to go to Seattle, who might of lost to the Chargers this week because of the Seahawks looking ahead to this game.

Seahawks 34, Broncos 14

DOG OF THE WEEK

Dallas Cowboys at St. Louis Rams

There's actually not too many bad games this week, leaving the Cowboys and Rams with the dog of the week. The second week in a row the Rams are in the dog game. It is not 100% certain that Austin Davis will get the start this week despite a strong showing against the Buccaneers. Tony Romo got sacked 4 times last week, and even with Chris Long out, the defensive line is still scary good. This game should be close but last year Dallas blew out the Ram in the same week.

Cowboys 24, Rams 14

Week 3 Power Ranking 2014-2015

*Teams can only move up or down 5 spots at most from week to week.

1(2)-Denver Broncos-(2-0)-In a game against Seattle, many would take the Seahawks but since Seattle lost, Denver gets the benefit here.

2(1)-Seattle Seahawks-(1-1)-Seattle continues to have road problems.

3(5)-Arizona Cardinals-(2-0)-Who would of thought that at any point in the season the Cardinals would be leading the NFC West?

4(7)-Cincinnati Bengals-(2-0)-It is not a stretch to suggest that the Bengals will represent the AFC in the Superbowl.

5(3)-San Francisco 49ers-(1-1)-This team has taken a big step down, and it's showing.

6(8)-Carolina Panthers-(2-0)-Carolina demolished a good Detroit team.

7(9)-Philadelphia Eagles-(2-0)-You mind as well call them the comeback kids.

8(4)-Green Bay Packers-(1-1)-Packers fans should be scared about how good this team really is after a Jets scare.

9(11)-San Diego Chargers-(1-1)-"Philip Rivers played near-perfect football" says Pete Carroll.

10(10)-New England Patriots-(1-1)-Tom Brady now has 149 career wins, passing John Elway.

11(6)-New Orleans Saints-(0-2)-The statistics of teams that start 0-2 making the playoffs is not good.

12(12)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-2)-They lost against two good teams, but now they'll have questions if they can beat elite teams in the Playoffs.

13(13)-Atlanta Falcons-(1-1)-Atlanta looked good last week, but this week they were dismissal.

14(16)-Baltimore Ravens-(1-1)-The Ravens showed they are the second best team in their division.

15(20)-Chicago Bears-(1-1)-Was it Matthew Berry who said to sit Brandon Marshall?

16(15)-Detroit Lions-(1-1)-They might of lost big but Detroit only moves down one spot.

17(22)-New York Jets-(1-1)-Rex Ryan is a good coach, Even with mediocrity he still finds ways to win...or almost win.

18(14)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(1-1)-The Steelers aren't only at .500, they are at .500 against their division this early in the season.

19(24)-Houston Texans-(2-0)-J.J. Watt can now also score on offense.

20(17)-Miami Dolphins-(1-1)-What happened in Buffalo?

21(26)-Buffalo Bills-(1-1)-The Bills are now the lone 1st place in the AFC East.

22(27)-Dallas Cowboys-(1-1)-Calling it now, the Dallas Cowboys will be a wildcard team.

23(18)-Tennessee Titans-(1-1)-And...Tennessee got worse again.

24(19)-Kansas City Chiefs-(0-2)-The Chiefs almost had Denver going to overtime.

25(21)-New York Giants-(0-2)-The Giants have not had an easy schedule so far, and the growing pains on offense is quickly making this a losing season.

26(23)-Minnesota Vikings-(1-1)-Good news for fantasy owners of Adrian Peterson, Peterson will be active for Sundays game. Bad news for kids.....too soon?

27(25)-St. Louis Rams-(1-1)-Maybe ESPN's ranking of number 32 last week was premature?

28(29)-Cleveland Browns-(1-1)-They almost beat Pittsburgh last week, and beat New Orleans this week. Brian Hoyer really wants to keep that job,

29(32)-Washington Redskins-(1-1)-It is Kirk Cousins time is Washington. Time to trade RGIII while he still has value and his legs.

30(28)-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(0-2)-They allowed Austin Davis, an undrafted QB in his starting debut pass for 235 yards.

31(31)-Oakland Raiders-(0-2)-These last two spots are hard to place.

32(29)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(0-2)-Blown-out by the Redskins deserves last place.

Will Ray Rice Ever Play In The NFL Again Results

In the poll by MosheFootball of "Will Ray Rice Ever Play In The NFL Again?", 100% of the votes said "yes". The Ravens released the esteemed running back earlier this month when TMZ released a video of Rice knocking out his wife Janay Palmer in an elevator. Rice was already suspended by Rodger Goodell two games for the issue.

Is It The NFL's Place To Discipline Players For Off Field Actions?

To be upfront this article is not trying to sway you towards one view or the other.

In the past few months we have seen many off field actions from NFL players that resulted in game suspensions. One of the most controversial was when Aldon Smith used the word "Bomb" at LAX. Then there is the whole issue with Ray Rice and domestic violence, and Wes Welker's use of Molly. The latest was child abuse by one of the NFL's marquee players Adrian Peterson. Adrian will be active for this upcoming game and has not had a suspension from the Rodger Goodell.

On one hand, people think it's important for the NFL to discipline players because they are in society's spotlight and people look up to these players as role models. Then there is the other side that even questions if the problem is that the NFL is about football. It is a problem to begin with that society even looks up to athletes as role models. Many of these players have been tailored to play a sport their whole life, not to give their articulate opinion on social events.

Maybe only drug violations of performance enhancing drugs should be disciplined? Obviously the issue of the NFL disciplining for off field actions is not an easy yes or no answer. MosheFootball would love to here if you think or don't think that the NFL has/should discipline players for non-football related issues, and why.

Rams Squeak Past The Bucs 19-17

In what was one of the most even games this week, the St. Louis Rams pulled off their first (and much needed) win of the season. Many were surprised that the Rams pulled out a victory, with Shaun Hill injured, second year undrafted QB Austin Davis got his first start of the season. While he didn't have any touchdowns, Davis threw for over 230 yards. In the upcoming week many will use the word poise when talking about Davis, however, Jeff Fisher has still made it clear that Hill is the starting QB when moving forward. Fisher probably is saying that to keep tension from the QBs and making a QB controversy. The Buccaneers started the game strong with a Josh McCown touchdown in the opening drive, but the Rams answered right away with Zac Stacy giving the Rams their first touchdown of the season. Greg Zuerlein went 4 for 4 with a length high of 46 yards.

Rams Pros - T.J. McDonald Jr. blocked both a field goal and a punt. Both blocks were very helpful to the win. Brian Quick once again looked great as the top receiver in the game yard wise for both teams.

Rams Cons - The offensive line still has some growing pains and is allowing to much pressure on Austin Davis.

Buccaneers Pros - Josh McCown had a great motor on him rushing for two touchdowns. Bobby Rainey also had a great game rushing just short of a 150 yards.

Buccaneers Cons - Vincent Jackson didn't have the more explosive game he need against the Rams' questionable secondary.

Player of the Game: T.J McDonald Jr.

Week 2 Thursday Night Football 2014-2015

We'll be previewing tonight's one and only game.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens

Obviously the main topic of the NFL the past week has been the Ray Rice incident. But the question for tonight's fame is "How will the Raven's fair without him?" Justin Forsett had 11 carries for 70 yards last week. That's not bad for a running back who didn't start. Ben Roethlisberger and Joe Flacco threw pretty similar number last week, and this game should be a hard fought one.

Steelers 28, Ravens 24

Week 2 Bold Predictions 2014-2015

A few bold predictions as we head into Week 2

1. Case Keenum Enters The Game For The Rams

The St. Louis Rams are down to their third QB of the season and it's only week 2. Will Austin Davis get bit by the injury bug and have Case Keenum take over?

2. Buffalo Will Be The Solo First Place In Their Division

The Bills have a very winnable game at home against the rival Dolphins. With a win, and an almost certain Jets' loss, this one isn't quite as bold.

3. Ray Rice Is Talked About At Least Three Times Each Quarter

If you haven't had you head under a rock the past week, then you know the Ray Rice scandal is the most debated situation in sports right now. Therefore it's hard to imagine a Thursday Night Football game where the Steelers visit the Ravens to not have Ray Rice's name mentioned so much.

Game and Dog of the Week: Week 2 2014-2015

GAME OF THE WEEK

Philadelphia Eagles at Indianapolis Colts

This weeks Monday Night Football game so happens to be the game of the week. With two Quarterbacks coming into their own, these two teams are on very equal footing. Both Nick Foles and Andrew Luck threw for 300 yards last week. This game will go down to which ever team can get off first.

Colts 38, Eagles 24

DOG OF THE WEEK

St. Louis Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay almost got completely embarrassed last week until a late game rally to still end up with a loss. The Rams did get embarrassed last game and are down to their starting QB in Austin Davis. To make matters worse Chris Long is expected to be out 6-8 games. Both offenses are not good (Josh McCown only had 183 yards on 22 attempts last week), and this game will come down to which defense makes the better plays.

Buccaneers 21, Rams 20.

Tuesday, September 9, 2014

Is It Time To Fire Jeff Fisher?

Is it time to fire Jeff Fisher as the head coach of the St. Louis Rams?

In Short...no.

Obviously it's not time to fire Fisher right this second. The NFL season only started this past weekend.

So...no. What we are looking at is if Jeff Fisher should be fired later this season (obviously depending on results and if the Rams make a crazy momentous run that leads them to do very well). What we're imaging here is if the Rams play more like they played yesterday.

Once again, the answer to that is no. So you may be wondering why this question is even being asked. A complete waste of time and just a filler "article" for more blog views. Well, that's not the reason. This is a message for Ram fans to chillax (chill and relax). And yes, there are still a few Ram fans around.

If you are a Ram fan, and part of the big Facebook groups or forums like Rams Fans University then you've probably seen a bunch of users calling for the end of the Jeff Fisher/Les Snead era. This is just frustration over a decade of less then mediocre performances and a horrible loss to the Minnesota Vikings. Seemingly, these Ram fans have forgotten that Jeff Fisher took over one of the worst teams in a long time, a team that saw the likes of Scott Linehan and Steve Spagnuolo who did years of damage (remember the stat of where a good portion of the pre-Fisher era Rams team isn't even in the NFL anymore). So give Fisher time. He just lost his QB two years in a row. A QB (Sam Bradford), who had the best touchdown/interception ratio last year before he got hurt, only behind Peyton Manning and Matthew Stafford.

Ram fans, remember when Pete Carroll took over the Seattle Seahawks. For a few years there was mediocrity, and then last year the Seahawks won their first Superbowl. Or remember how the year before the Baltimore Ravens won the Superbowl? Did you know that John Harbaugh himself said it takes five years to truly make a team into you own?

So again, this isn't an article. Just a message to Ram fans to chill out.

Week 2 Power Rankings 2014-2015

Note that teams can only move up or down five spots at most from week to week.

1(1)-Seattle Seahawks-(1-0)-They looked completely dominant this past week and should be early season favorites.

2(2)-Denver Broncos-(1-0)-Question marks came from experts of how the Broncos would deal with a post Superbowl loss hangover. They answered well.

3(6)-San Francisco 49ers-(1-0)-It looks like once again, whoever is the winner of the NFC West will be representing the NFC in the Superbowl.

4(2)-Green Bay Packers-(0-1)-They didn't look good on either side of the ball, but they played the best team in the league, so they get a slide.

5(10)-Arizona Cardinals-(1-0)-Last year they lost their first game of the season and narrowly missed the playoffs. This year they won it....

6(4)-New Orleans Saints-(0-1)-Yes, they lost. But they lost to Atlanta at home in overtime. The Falcons are a good team who were plagued with bad luck last year.

7(9)-Cincinnati Bengals-(1-0)-The Bengals look top of the class in the AFC North.

8(7)-Carolina Panthers-(1-0)-The Panthers are only moving down because the Bengals had to move up.

9(8)-Philadelphia Eagles-(1-0)-The Eagles had a scare with the Jaguars early on but showed they can make comebacks.

10(5)-New England Patriots-(0-1)-What happened in the second half. The Patriots may have some real competition this for the division.

11(12)-San Diego Chargers-(0-1)-The Chargers lost to a very good team in Arizona. They will for sure be a wildcard in the AFC.

12(13)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-1)- Andrew Luck had more passing yards than Peyton Manning this week.

13(14)-Atlanta Falcons-(1-0)- A good win for the Falcons but we will need to see a little more from them before they move up.

14(11)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(1-0)-The Steelers almost blew a huge lead to....the Browns?

15(18)-Detroit Lions-(1-0)-This team has a lot of talent and can give any team a run for their money.

16(16)-Baltimore Ravens-(0-1)-It would be surprising to see the Ravens legitimately compete for a playoff spot.

17(22)-Miami Dolphins-(1-0)-They got a very important comeback win against the Patriots. The division games are must wins if the Dolphins want a shot at the playoffs.

18(23)Tennessee Titans-(1-0)-MosheFootball was wrong. Tennessee got better.

19(15)-Kansas City Chiefs-(0-1)-Only fair that the Chiefs are now behind the Titans

20(17)Chicago Bears-(0-1)-Not who they wanted to lose to at all.

21(19)-New York Giants-(0-1)-The Giants got manhandled last night.

22(21)-New York Jets-(1-0)-The Jets stay put in the rankings after a win this past week.

23(27)-Minnesota Vikings-(1-0)-Jon Gruden said it best last night. Minnesota is going to sneak up on a lot of teams this year.

24(26)-Houston Texans-(1-0)-They already got half the number of wins that they got last year.

25(20)-St. Louis Rams-(0-1)-It looks to be a long year for Ram fans.

26(28)-Buffalo Bills-(1-0)-With a Bills win too, the Patriots are the sole losers in the AFC East right now.

27(25)-Dallas Cowboys-(0-1)-Tony OppsanotherInterceptiono...Am I right?

28(24)-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(0-1)-It looks like the rest of these power ranking teams will be just losers.

29(30)-Cleveland Browns-(0-1)-Good comeback from the Browns to almost beat their division rivals.

30(31)-Jacksonville Jaguars(0-1)-The Jaguars still lost but it will be interesting to see where this team goes after a strong first half against the Eagles.

31(32)-Oakland Raiders-(0-1)-Oakland actually didn't look so bad. However, it's still Oakland.

32(29)-Washington Redskins-(0-1)They got their extra kick blocked :(

Lions Crush Giants 35-14

In the first Monday night game of the new NFL season the New York Giants visited the Detroit Lions. It was a pretty one-sided affair as the Giants never once lost control of the game and within the first quarter went up by 14. Jim Caldwell has good control of his team, and other teams need to watch out for the Lions this year. MosheFootball's prediction was Lions 31, Giants 24.

Lions Pros - The Lions passing game was great. Calvin Johnson Jr. had some amazing catches including a diving catch for a touchdown. Matthew Stafford finished the game with 346 yards, 2 touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Lions Cons - If you watched the game, you heard the announcers keep saying the Lions were shooting themselves in the foot with stupid penalties. The announcers couldn't be more right.

Giants Pros - Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie looked very solid in his Giants debut.

Giants Cons - Eli Manning had a bad game with only 163 yards. He had two interceptions, and after the second one was picked of by Glover Quin, you can clearly see Manning mouth the "F" word on camera.

Player of the Game: Calvin Johnson Jr.

Will Ray Rice ever play in the NFL again Poll

Take the poll to the left of your screen if former Ravens' running back Ray Rice will ever play in the NFL again. A video from TMZ just came out of Rice hitting Janay Palmer in an elevator in Atlantic City.

Ray Rice Video Leaked

Breaking News has come out in the past hour. A video apprehended by TMZ shows now former Raven running back Ray Rice punching his wife Janay Palmer in the face and dragging her out. The Ravens have since then released Rice. Before the season, Rodger Goodell suspended Rice for two games. Due to controversy over the "weak" suspension, Goodell has since refit the domestic violence policy to a more fitting punishment besides the two game suspension. What will remain to be seen is if the NFL will now look for a more severe punishment for Rice or if since they already gave him the punishment, giving him more can't be done.

Week 1 Monday Night Preview 2014-2015

Tonight we have two Monday night games in honor of NFL Kickoff weekend. Moshe Football will preview both.

New York Giants at Detroit Lions

Tom Coughlin and the Giants visit brand new Detroit coach Jim Caldwell. After Jim Schwartz was fired last year for another dismissal season with a very talented team. Detroit has offensive passing and rushing on their side. Reggie Bush re-surged his career last year rushing for over 1,000 yards. Calvin Johnson Jr. and Matthew Stafford had a great connection. Johnson had almost 1,500 yards. However, that seemed too one dimensional last year at times. Schwartz was a a defensive minded coach but Jim Caldwell has a back round in offense. It'll be interesting to see the Stafford/Johnson dynamic with a true offensive minded head coach behind them.

On the Giants side of things, Eli Manning led the team to a 7-9 season, but they first went 0-6 at the beginning. Maybe that strong finish can carry over to the start of the season. But probably not as recent trends for the Giants has been to start of the season poorly to mediocre and end the season strong.

Prediction: Lions 31, Giants 24

San Diego Chargers at Arizona Cardinals

San Diego went 9-7 last year and took the 6th seed in the AFC playoffs, becoming the third team out of the AFC West to enter the playoffs. The Arizona Cardinals from the NFC West were not as lucky. At 10-6 they were probably the best team in the league to not make the playoffs. Many people have questioned Palmer as a starting QB but with 4,274 yards receiving he was pretty decent. It was Michael Floyd, and not Larry Fitzgerald who got the chunk of those receiving yards with 1,041 yards. Bruce Arians has done a great job with this team and they can realistically win the NFC West.

The Chargers strong finish last season included a a playoff win over the Bengals but ended in a loss to division rivals Broncos. The Chargers unfortunately are not good enough to dethrone the Broncos from the AFC West Division rival. These are the games they will need to win for a good enough wildcard record.

Prediction: Cardinals 21-14

Week 1 Bold Predictions 2014-2015 Revisted

Moshe Football will be taking a look at the earlier bold predictions made.

Prediction: Adrian Peterson Runs 200+ Yards

Result: Not even close. While the Vikings destroyed the Rams, Peterson was relativity quite with 75 yards.

Predictions: Dallas Upsets San Francisco

Result: Also not close. The 49ers took control scoring 21 points in the first quarter alone and winning the game and beating the Cowboys 28-17.

Prediction: Andrew Luck Has More Passing Yards Than Peyton Manning

Result: Correct. Colts' quarterback Andrew Luck had 370 passing yards, while Broncos' quarterback Peyton Manning had 269 passing yards.

Vikings Blowout Rams 34-6

The Vikings dominated from start to finish as they blow out the Rams. Cordarrelle Patterson played an amazing game and definitely should be getting the game winning ball. As a wide receiver he rushed for 102 yards on three carries. Patterson was a big help as the Rams did make Adrian Peterson into a non-factor holding him to 75 yards on 21 carries. The real story of the game however is that the Rams went to their third QB of the season, and we are only in the first week. Shaun Hill was replaced by Austin Davis in the second half when Hill had a calf related injury. However, that can just be a smokescreen to the media as Hill was playing pretty shoddy football.

Vikings Pros - Matt Cassel was solid giving the Viking their first road win in a long time. He had 170 yards and two touchdowns. Greg Jennings also played decently and had a nice touchdown early in the game.

Vikings Cons - Both teams had a lot of stupid penalties but the Viking kept having offensive line penalties ranging from false starts to holdings. They kept shooting themselves in the foot.

Rams Pros - Brian Quick looked great even without a sufficient QB situation. Rams fans should be pleased with his progress.

Rams Cons - There were a lot, but injury concerns should be number one. Defensive line captain Chris Long went out with an injury. Another con for the Rams is the lack of urgency that Jeff Fisher put into the team. The Rams didn't seem to try hurrying up and scoring points until there was 5 minutes left and the Rams were down by 24.

Jets Hold Off Raiders 19-14

The New York Jets coached by Rex Ryan beat the Oakland Raiders who many people think are the worst team in the NFL. The game was close through out, especially in the end when James Jones makes a spectacular catch for a TD. However, a bad onside kick by Sebastian Janikowski ended the Raiders chances.

Jets Pros - Geno Smith's running ability and maneuvering greatly helped when the pocket collapsed to extend plays or make something out of nothing. One of his runs was for 17 yards.

Jets Cons - The offensive line allowed the pocket to collapse too much which is why it what great for the Jets to have Geno Smith today.

Raiders Pros - While not a spectacular game, Derek Carr showed his potential with 2 touchdowns.

Raiders Cons - The rushing game only totaled 25 yards for the whole team. Maurice Jones-Drew had 11 yards on 9 carries.

Week 1 Bold Predictions 2014-2015

A few bold predictions as we head into Sunday's game.

1. Adrian Peterson Runs For 200+ yards

The St. Louis Rams front seven may be scary, but Minnesota Vikings' running back Adrian Peterson is even scarier. During the preseason the Rams rush defense looked lacking and get ready to see a big game from Peterson.

2. Dallas upsets San Francisco

Talking about who had a bad off season and preseason? San Francisco will definitely be in that conversation. Watch the 49ers take a big step back this year, and it starts with the Cowboys winning this game.

3. Andrew Luck Has More Passing Yards than Peyton Manning

Andrew Luck took over the reign of Peyton manning in Indianapolis, and while Colt fans haven't forgotten about Manning, they don't quite miss him as much. Now Luck gets to play his predecessor in Denver. While the Broncos D has improved, Andrew Luck's will will be too much.

Seahawks Start Season Off Right With Win Against The Packers

Seahawks 26, Packers 16

Last year Superbowl winners the Seattle Seahawks showed why many believe they will repeat with a win over the Packers. After being down 3-0, the Packers took the lead with a rushing touchdown by John Kuhn. That drive was helped by a muffed punt from Earl Thomas III that gave them great field position. But after that it was all Seahawks with Marshawn Lynch having 110 yards.

Seahawk Pros - Many people have questioned how good of a player Russell Wilson is, but with 191 yards and two touchdowns, Wilson didn't look like a game manager but a top QB in the league.

Seahawks Con - Why does  Pete Caroll risk hurting his top safety Earl Thomas III by having him double as a punt returner.

Packers Pro - Clay Matthews was all over the place and looked to be in top form.

Packers Con - Aaron Rodgers accuracy seemed a little off and the offensive gameplan by Tom Clements wasn't very creative.

Week 1 Power Rankings 2014-15

1 - Seattle Seahawks - They have the best chances to repeat of any Superbowl winners in recent years.

2 - Denver Broncos - They are the best team in an easy AFC.

3 - Green Bay Packers - The Packers will have a healthy Aaron Rodgers and all reports indicate that the defense has vastly improved. Put that with one of the strongest offenses the past few seasons and you have a real contender.

4 - New Orleans Saints - The past few years the NFC South has not had back to back division winners, and the Saints looked primed to take the title this year.

5 - New England Patriots - The only true threat to the Broncos chances to returning to the Superbowl is New England.

6 - San Francisco 49ers - The off season and preseason hasn't given much hope lately for the Bay Area organization.

7 - Carolina Panthers - Cam Newton is quickly becoming one of the best QBs in the league and already the best scrambler.

8 - Philadelphia Eagles - Chip Kelly silenced doubters about him coaching a professional team, including Moshe Football.

9 -Cincinnati Bengals - Many predictions have Pittsburgh dethroning the Bengals in the division this year.

10 - Arizona Cardinals - It's a very real possibility that this 10-6 team last year will once again miss the playoffs because of the strength of the NFC and more precisely the NFC West.

11 - Pittsburgh Steelers - As stated before, the Steelers are becoming the favorite in the AFC North.

12 - San Diego Chargers - This team may surprise many people and take the AFC West.

13 - Indianapolis Colts - The Colts aren't as good as their 11-5 record last year suggests.

14 - Atlanta Falcons - The Falcons might be the the Chiefs of 2014.

15 - Kansas City Chiefs - A game manger QB will only get this organization so far.

16 - Baltimore Ravens - The second to last Superbowl champs missed the playoffs last year, and will probably miss it again.

17 - Chicago Bears - Jay Cutler always has flashed potential to be great but Chicago doesn't want flashes of potential anymore.

18 - Detroit Lions - With a new coach under center, there is no telling where the team will go.

19 - New York Giants - You can never count out the Giants going 9-7 and winning the whole thing.

20 - St. Louis Rams - The front seven is scary good, but the rest of the team has one to many question marks.

21 - New York Jets - Geno Smith will be under center with a very similar QB styling of Mike Vick in the second spot.

22 - Miami Dolphins - A huge free agency last year didn't seem to bode so well for them.

23 - Tennessee Titans - Tennessee will only be getting worse.

24 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - The NFC South is the second division to have all four teams put on the power rankings up to this point.

25 - Dallas Cowboys - Michael Sam has officially become a Cowboy but don't plan on seeing him in a game anytime soon.

26 - Houston Texans - Clowney and Watts make take over the Rams position of best defensive line in the league.

27 - Minnesota Vikings - Let's be real for a second. AP is the closest thing to Superman in the world.

28 - Buffalo Bills - The Bills will just keep being mediocre. Maybe they'll start the season strong but will eventually even themselves out.

29 - Washington Redskins - After seeing what happened to Sam Bradford, the Redskins won't get rid of Kirk Cousins anytime soon.

30 - Cleveland Browns - Johnny Football is no starter.

31 - Jacksonville Jaguars - Jacksonville finished the second half of the season off at .500.

32 - Oakland Raiders - Fans of the Bay Area Raiders have some good news. Recent reports indicate that Oakland is trying to work out a deal with the team to stay.
