Ravens Rally Rams

Ravens 37, Rams 7

Joe Flacco and rookie WR Torrey Smith ran up and down on the St. Louis Rams all day. They scored 21 points together, in the first quarter. To just be frank, the Rams just didn't look ready.

Ravens Pro - The passing game was unstoppable.

Ravens Con - Calling timeouts when it's clear they are going to win.

Rams Pro - Bradford wasn't so bad. Cut the kid slack.

Rams Con - Not ready for tough teams.

Bills Comeback Versus Patriots

Bills 34, Patriots 31

If you would of guessed the Bills would be 3-0, you would be a psychic. But if you would of guessed Tom Brady would throw four interceptions versus the Bills than well you would be a prophet. Probably the biggest upset this season, Buffalo came back from a 21 point deficit to be New England. That's Buffalo's second comeback in two weeks.

Bills Pro - Fitzpatrick; what a showing and poise.

Bills Con - Need to learn how to control the game from the start.

Patriots Pro - Tom Brady's first half of the game.

Patriots Con - Defense just sucks.

Game and Dog 2011 Week 3

GAME OF THE WEEK

Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears

Probably the best rival in all of the NFL also has the add on of being the top two NFC teams last year. While the Bears won the division last year. The Packers won the Superbowl. Cutler has no protection and the Packers are a good defense. This can be an ugly one.

Packers 24, Chicago Bears 13

DOG OF THE WEEK

Jacksonville Jaguars at Carolina Panthers

Both have rookie QBs starting but Carolina obviously has the better one. Newton is looking for his first win, expect a blowout.

Panthers 32, Jaguars 10

Week 3 Power Rankings 2011

7(3)-Baltimore Ravens-(1-1)-What a loss!

9(14)-Houston Texans-(2-0)-Big test the week vs the Saints.

10(5)-Chicago Bears-(1-1)-Let's see if last week was just a hiccup.

11(9)-San Diego Chargers-(1-1)-Lost to Brady, don't worry about them.

12(16)-Detroit Lions-(2-0)-When have they been this high up?

14(17)-Dallas Cowboys-(1-1)-Romo got them up here.

15(18)-New York Giants-(1-1)-Questionable if they deserved the Ram win.

16(12)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(1-1)-They need a QB.

17(20)-Oakland Raiders-(1-1)-Still can't beat anyone outside the division.

18(13)-Kansas City Chiefs-(0-2)-They should be lower.

19(24)-Washington Redskins-(2-0)-If they could move up more than five than they would.

20(15)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-2)-We need you Peyton.

21(23)-Tennessee Titans-(1-1)-Big win vs the number seven Ravens.

22(21)-Miami Dolphins-(0-2)-They've played two tough teams and looked decent.

23(22)-Arizona Cardinals-(1-1)-They got the easiest schedule in the NFC West.

24(19)-St. Louis Rams-(0-2)-Maybe the hardest schedule in the NFC West.

25(29)-Buffalo Bills-(2-0)-Not entirely convinced yet.

26(25)-San Francisco 49ers-(1-1)-Did hold the lead vs the Cowboys.

31(28)-Cleveland Browns-(1-1)-Worse than expected.

32(27)Seattle Seahawks-(0-2)-Worst team right now in the NFL.

Giants Take Advantage of Rams Mistakes on MNF

Giants 28, Rams 16

The St. Louis Rams had many mistakes. The Rams actually out played the Giants but two things killed the Rams. First was their red zone offense. Way too many field goals. The second was their mistakes. A muffed punt by rookie Salas, who also dropped a couple of big passes. The next mistake was by Cadillac Williams dropped a lateral which was returned for a touchdown. If you make two of the Rams field goals in the red zone to a touchdown, the Rams win. If you take away the two big mistakes, the Rams win.

Giants Pro - Capitalizing on mistakes.

Giants Con - 3rd down offense was horrendous.

Rams Pro - Defense looked good and Bradford was for the most part on.

Rams Con - Rookie Salas.

Falcons Fly Higher

Falcon 35, Eagles 31

A Micheal Vick injury may have helped the Falcons win late but back up QB Kafka didn't look bad  in fact he could of won the game and he didn't screw it up. WR Maclin screwed up by dropping a game continuing catch. The Falcons, one of the best teams at home looked like the Falcons and jumped back from the Chicago game  last week.

Falcons Pro - Running game was solid.

Falcons Con - Defense let big plays happen.

Eagles Pro - They did control the game despite the loss.

Eagles Con - Vick gave up some big turnovers. Too many trick plays. The O-line didn't protect Vick.

Game and Dog of the Week : Week 2, 2011

GAME OF THE WEEK

Philadelphia Eagles VS Atlanta Falcons

This week's best game also happens to be the Sunday night game, the way the NFL always hopes it is. NFC East division winners, the Eagles will be heading to Atlanta after defeating an injured Ram team. NFC South division winners, the Falcons came off a tough lost to Chicago and will not be looking forward to this week. If Vick doesn't get hit, his return to Atlanta should be victorious.

Eagles 34, Falcons 20

DOG OF THE WEEK

Cincinnati Bengals VS Denver Broncos

The Bengals are coming of a big upset last week, but that was a Brown hiccup. They still have no one good. Denver, to be frank, sucks. But they are at home, that's why they'll win.

Broncos 17, Bengals 10

Power Rankings for Week 2 of 2011-2012

Notes:

The last week numbers are from unpublished power rankings, two weeks before the season started.

The most a team can move up and down is 5 spots a  week.

RANK-(LAST WEEK)-TEAM-(RECORD)-NOTE

1-(1)-Green Bay Packers-(1-0)-The champs stay on top.

2-(3)-New England Patriots-(1-0)-After last night Brady won't stop until he is number 1.

3-(6)-Baltimore Ravens-(1-0)-They might be the team to beat in the AFC.

4-(4)-New York Jets-(1-0)-They keep winning games, no matter how close.

5-(7)-Chicago Bears-(1-0)-What's with all the hatred towards the Bears?

6-(9)-Philadelphia Eagles-(1-0)-When your backup basket case QB calls you a 'Dream Team'...ego check.

7-(2)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(0-1)-Lose like that to a division rival, you gotta lose 5 spots.

8-(5)-Atlanta Falcons-(0-1)-A tough loss last week, next week vs the Eagles will be a real test.

9-(10)-San Diego Chargers-(1-0)-They need to work more on their ST to be higher up.

10-(8)-New Orleans Saints-(0-1)-It was only one loss, and it was to the champs.

11-(13)-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(0-1)-The lions are a good team and the Bucs played well.

12-(15)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(1-0)-Don't expect them to stay this high next week.

13-(12)-Kansas City Chiefs-(0-1)-The Bill game was just the lockout effect.

14-(18)-Houston Texans-(1-0)-Took advantage of Manning gone.

15-(11)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-1)-Haven't remembered the last time they were even this low.

16-(19)-Detroit Lions-(1-0)-Looks like they finally will live up to expectation.

17-(20)-Dallas Cowboys-(0-1)-If Romo thinks, the cowboys will be good.

18-(14)-New York Giants-(0-1)-Health issues concern this team.

19-(16)-St. Louis Rams-(0-1)-Like NYG, who they play on MNF, health also concerns this team.

20-(21)-Oakland Raiders-(1-0)-New Coaching looks good.

21-(24)-Miami Dolphins-(0-1)-Chad Henne threw for over 400 yards and kept Miami in the game on MNF.

22-(23)-Arizona Cardinals-(1-0)-ESPN ranked them at 16. They beat the Panthers!

23-(17)-Tennessee Titans-(0-1)-Just an 'eh' type of team.

24-(27)-Washington Redskins-(1-0)-If they play like they did last week, they'll be moving up quickly.

25-(26)-San Francisco 49ers-(1-0)-This is a team where you got to wait to see what will come from them.

26-(29)-Minnesota Vikings-(0-1)-McNabb looks like a 'has-been'.

27-(22)-Seattle Seahawks-(0-1)-If it wasn't for 5 spots, they would be lower down.

28-(25)-Cleveland Browns-(0-1)-Teams shouldn't move around to much on week 1, except for a couple.

29-(30)-Buffalo Bills-(1-0)-That win last week will be the only one like that for a long time.

30-(31)-Cincinnati Bengals-(1-0)-Who would of thought? So far undefeated!

31-(32)-Carolina Panthers-(0-1)-The big question is; Will Cam Newton stay that good?

32-(28)-Denver Broncos-(0-1)-Just a mess of a team.

Raiders On the Way to Be Perfect in AFC West

Raiders 23, Broncos 20

Last year the Raiders went 6-0 in their division. Versus the rest of the league they went 2-8. This year may be no different. The Raiders who last night beat the Broncos did just that, beat the Broncos. Both teams looked bad and all together had close to 30 penalties. While Oakland did outplay Denver the only thing on the field that looked good was Raiders running game and special teams. Bronco QB Kyle Orton looks horrible so that helped the Oakland defense looked good, when they were more just lucky.

Raiders Pro - Special teams who did give up a touchdown but besides that blocked a punt, kicked a 63 yard field goal and a 77 yard punt. The running game was great as well. New aggressive play calling from a rookie coach.

Raiders Con - Way too many penalties.

Broncos Pro - Had a punt returned for a TD.

Broncos Con - Also had too many penalties and the offense sucked, from passing to running to the offensive line.

Brady Breaks 500 Yards as the Patriots Rout the Dolphins

Patriots 38, Dolphins 24

Miami QB Chad Henne helped the Dolphins start strong. The whole offense in fact looked good, even newly acquired former Saint HB Reggie Bush. Well at least for the first quarter. After that he wasn't such a big help. Yes, you can argue he had a TD late in the game. But that was from like the two and that is his job. But Bush wasn't the only person new to his team that didn't really help that much. Patriot WR Ochocinco only had one reception. That didn't mean Brady had a bad game. He threw for 517 yards. A Monday Night Football Record.

Patriots Pro - Passing Game was unstoppable. Great start.

Patriots Con - Some penalties held them back, and the defense did let Henne throw for 416 yards.

Dolphins Pro - Henne looked good.

Dolphins Con - Dolphins had trouble getting in the end zone.

Rex Wins Battle of the Ryans

Jets 27. Cowboys 24

A close and epic game didn't have a Jet lead until the final kick. Sanchez did what he had to do, win, like he always does. Romo and the cowboys actually were a surprise this game and pretty impressive. That of course was until Romo's interception, fumble, and the jets blocked a punt for a touchdown. Romo however doesn't deserve all the blame in this game. Football is a team effort.

Jets Pro - Sanchez kept hi team in the game despite Cowboy leads.

Jets Con - They don't look Superbowl ready if the Cowboys are leading them most of the game.

Cowboys Pro - The defense looked great. Really felt comfortable.

Cowboys Con - Romo is making bad decision at key points. The O-line who combined prior to the game only had one start, was bad. Romo was getting pressure all game.

Injuries Help Eagles Soar

Eagles 31. Rams 13

The self-proclaimed "Dream Team" beat St. Louis. The NFL lockout effects have been shown by many injuries around the league in week 1. No different in St. Louis. The Rams took an early lead when Steven Jackson scored on St. Louis' opening drive. After one more run by him next drive he was out. The eagles played well all together and though Vick's passing numbers weren't great his presence did make an effect. While Philadelphia would still have probably won, the game should of been closer. At one time the Rams had Jackson, Amedola, Bradford, Smith, and Bartell out due to injury.

Eagles Pro - Vick made it clear that he can make the big plays.

Eagles Con - Eagles couldn't stop the run, even when starter Jackson was out.

Rams Pro - The running game was outstanding and Williams picked up the slack when Jackson was out.

Rams Con - The offensive line had Bradford rushed all game. To many dropped passes.

Packers Stay On Top

Packers 42, Saints 34

Last season, New Orleans did not let a single opening drive touchdown. The first drive of the game, Green Bay scored a touchdown. On the first Saint drive there was a fumble. Don't get it wrong though New Orleans kept up with Green Bay, even to the last play. The difference between the teams though is Green Bay just looks more athletic and has a better receiving core.

Green Bay Pros- Everything seemed to work for them, even their rookies. Cobb looks good and a great addition to the team.

Green Bay Cons- Nothing comes to mind. They look great. Except Woodson needs to not punch other players.

New Orleans Pros- Brees had over 400 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions.

New Orleans Cons- Many! Play calling, don't put the game in your rookie's hands. Drops, too many dropped passes that were not Brees fault.

2011 Week 1; Game and Dog of the week

GAME OF THE WEEK
New Orleans Saints at Green Bay Packers

This was obvious. The last two Superbowl MVPs square off. Two dominant offenses. This is a big game, if you look at the facts. The team who loses this game, always has a bad season.

Packers - Coming of a season in which they lost 15 players to injury, they still won a Superbowl. Big moves and players coming back, they should now be even better. However, repeating is hard and all the teams will be coming after you.

Saints - Brees will be Brees and the offense will be great. The new rookie looks good too. But I will say it again. The league caught up.

Packers 34, Saints 28

DOG OF THE WEEK

Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns

Both are AFC North teams and both suck.

Browns - Representing the cover of  Madden this year, Peyton Hillis is the Browns biggest threat. That and Colt McCoy, they are moving in the right direction. That being said, it's the Browns.

Bengals - Nothing good to say. Ochocinco is gone. Palmer never stepped up. They are the biggest mess in the NFL.

Browns 30, Bengals 7

(Y) Rams - The only thing stopping them is a tough early schedule.
Cardinals - Kolb/Fitgerald package looks good.
