Power Ranking Week 14 2011-2012

The top five spots don't move as Green Bay stays number one and probably won't unless their impressive offense doesn't do it for their unimpressive defense. They Saints win again and claim the number two spot but the Ravens are right behind as the AFC leader. The 49ers blew out the Rams for the division while number five Steelers are in a dog fight with number three Ravens.

1(1)-Green Bay Packers-(12-0)-No matter how much we all hate it, they're most likely going perfect.

2(2)-New Orleans Saints-(9-3)-Drew Brees is already looking ahead to the NFC Championship vs GB.

3(3)-Baltimore Ravens-(9-3)-If they continue to play like they have the rest of the schedule should be no problem.

4(4)-San Francisco 49ers-(9-2)-A shutout win secured their first division title since 2002.

5(5)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(9-3)-The Steelers sweep the Bengals this year.

6(6)-New England Patriots-(9-3)-The only thing stopping them is their pass defense.

7(7)-Houston Texans-(9-3)-The Texans acquire their second winning season ever despite the injuries.

8(8)-Atlanta Falcons-(7-5)-After the 7th spot the teams are no longer impressive.

9(14)-New York Giants-(6-6)-Showed that GB can be defeated. Just outscore them. Easy enough. Right?

10(10)-Chicago Bears-(7-5)-To add to sorrow, Forte is now out.

11(9)-Oakland Raiders-(7-5)-It's not so bad, Miami is 4-1 in the past five games.

12(11)-Detroit Lions-(7-5)-They just want a winning season at this point. They'll beat GB for it.

13(12)-New York Jets-(7-5)-Can Rex do another six seed-championship game appearance?

14(13)-Cincinnati Bengals-(7-5)-They just can't get past their two good rivals.

15(17)-Tennessee Titans-(7-5)-One of the surprises of the year.

16(15)-Dallas Cowboys-(7-5)-Last weeks loss might of screwed them.

17(18)-Denver Broncos-(7-5)-Tebow is a horrible QB but he's a winner and that's what counts!

18(16)-Buffalo Bills-(5-7)-Just a massive decline...go to Toronto already!

19(20)-San Diego Chargers-(5-7)-Turner might be saving his job with a win last week and maybe this week.

20(19)-Philadelphia Eagles-(4-8)-People are saying Reid needs to go but it's not his fault, he told them not to call themselves the Dream Team.

21(22)-Kansas City Chiefs-(5-7)-Close win over a injured Bear's team

22(23)-Washington Redskins-(4-8)-Remember how they were good until Beck came in for Rex.

23(24)-Seattle Seahawks-(5-7)-They should of taken advantage of the 49ers loss, but they didn't.

24(28)-Miami Dolphins-(4-8)-Blew out the Raiders..THEY ARE PLAYING BETTER THAN 4-8!

25(29)-Carolina Panthers-(4-8)-Maybe Cam is taking notes from Tebow on how to win.

26(21)-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(4-8)-The lockout really affected them.

27(26)-Arizona Cardinals-(5-7)-They Always have close games.

28(25)-Cleveland Browns-(4-8)-They seem to have taken several steps back.

29(27)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(3-9)- The new interim coach didn't help but that's not Weaver's goal anyways.

30(30)-Minnesota Vikings-(2-10)-In a race for second overall pick with the Rams.

31(31)-St. Louis Rams-(2-10)-Spags can't get shutout if he has any chance of keeping his job.

32(32)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-12)-Is so sad to watch..they fight hard and want to win so badly.

Game and Dog of Week 14 2011-2012

GAME OF THE WEEK

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys

This game is a battle of the QBs who may be elite. While Tony Romo and Eli Manning keep trying to convince us that they can get it done constituently, their personal egos is not up for grabs. The battle for the NFC East is what each team is fighting for. If Dallas wins, they'll have a two game lead on New York, but if New York wins they'll have a half game lead on Dallas. Both these teams meet back up in the final week of the regular season.

Giants 34, Dallas 14

DOG OF THE WEEK

St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks

Twice in a row now the "Dog of the Week" is a Monday game. Many thought this game would decide the division but now with the 49ers earning that title last week and Seattle's chances at the wildcard seem to be non-existent, this game is meaningless.

Seahawks 21, Rams 7

49ers Shutout Rams

49ers 26, Rams 0

The 49ers claimed their first NFC West title since 2002 as they shutout the hapless Rams.

49ers Pro - Frank Gore ran all over the worst rush defense to help deliver a shutout.

49ers Con - Constant delay of game penalties should worry 49er fans of Alex Smith's improvement.

Rams Pro - The Rams had great redzone defense led by Chris Long.

Rams Con - The Josh McDaniel's offense seems to have no improvement.

Miami Plays Better As Raiders Fall

Dolphins 34, Raiders 14

The Dolphins are 4-1 in the last five game as Sparano tries to keep his job but it could not come at worse time for the Raiders who's loss put them in a tie with the Broncos for first place.

Dolphins Pro - Rushing for over 150 yards and a solid defense kept their win never in jeopardy.

Dolphins Con - Blowing the shutout at the end of the game is not what winners do.

Raiders Pro - Palmer's effort throughout the game despite the conditions is a up for all Raider fans.

Con - The defense, who was manhandled all day long.

2(3)-New Orleans Saints-(8-3)-Drew Brees demolished the Giants.

3(6)-Baltimore Ravens-(8-3)-The Ravens have the better Harbaugh.

4(2)-San Francisco 49ers-(9-2)-Poor Jim, losing to your brother is tough but the Ravens do have more talent.

5(4)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(8-3)-Tough game for Roethlisberger who has a bad thumb.

6(5)-New England Patriots-(8-3)-They really got to do something about that pass defense!

7(7)-Houston Texans-(8-3)-Can they win without Shaub or Leinart?

8(10)-Atlanta Falcons-(7-4)-There season is really starting to pick up.

9(11)-Oakland Raiders-(7-4)-There only worry now is the Tebow frenzy

10(8)-Chicago Bears-(7-4)-Rumor has it Cutler will be out for the season.

11(9)-Detroit Lions-(7-4)-Maybe no wildcard teams will be from the North as the Suh is now out.

12(12)-New York Jets-(6-5)-Staying alive by the skins of there teeth.

13(14)-Cincinnati Bengals-(7-4)-The fact that they're in the playoff mix should make Dalton the Rookie of the year.

14(13)-New York Giants-(6-5)-A need to win game...for them and football fans.

15(16)-Dallas Cowboys-(7-4)-Now the top in their division.

16(15)-Buffalo Bills-(5-6)-And that should be there season.

17(17)-Tennessee Titans-(5-5)-The Texans QB losses gives them so much hope.

18(21)-Denver Broncos-(6-5)-What is going on with the last five minutes of each game.

19(18)-Philadelphia Eagles-(4-7)-Vince Young hasn't been looking so bad.

20(19)-San Diego Chargers-(4-7)-Maybe it's not to late to hire Rex.

22(22)-Kansas City Chiefs-(4-7)-They almost too advantage of the Steelers QB problems.

23(26)-Washington Redskins-(4-7)-Hell, they might not be last in there division.

24(23)-Seattle Seahawks-(4-7)-They should of taken advantage of the 49ers loss, but they didn't.

25(24)-Cleveland Browns-(4-7)-Almost gave the Bengals another division loss.

26(27)-Arizona Cardinals-(4-7)-Tied for second with only four wins.

27(25)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(3-7)- With Del Rio gone, winning is going to be even harder...should of waited till the end of the season to fire him.

28(28)-Miami Dolphins-(3-7)-They had Dallas for a second.

29(29)-Carolina Panthers-(3-8)-Hey Indy counts as a win.

30(30)-Minnesota Vikings-(2-9)-That third win didn't come yet.

31(31)-St. Louis Rams-(2-9)-There season has been over.

32(32)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-11)-Are they really going to go winless.

Game and Dog of Week 13 2011-2012

GAME OF THE WEEK

Green Bay Packers at New York Giants

This may be the toughest game the Packers played in awhile but the Giants want this one bad to stay in the mix. While Aaron Rodgers is a great QB, Eli Manning is the king of winning games he should not win.

Giants 30, Packers 28

DOG OF THE WEEK

San Diego Chargers at Jacksonville Jaguars

Who would of thought at the beginning of the season the Chargers would be one of the 'Dogs'. With their recent decline if there is ever a game to win, it's this one as the Jags just fired Del Rio.

Chargers 20, Jaguars 7

Rams Would be Crazy to Get Rid of Spagnuolo

Originally posted on Yahoo by Moshe Rosenfeld (Founder of Moshe Football).

Over a tough season for the St. Louis Rams, no question has been asked more than "What is Steve Spagnuola's job security?" After taking over the Rams head coaching position, Steve Spagnuola has only won ten games and has lost over thirty. Under any normal circumstance a new coach is in order. But the Rams are not by any means a normal circumstance. In fact, getting rid of Steve Spagnuola is the wrong move.

Typically a head coach gets about three years to prove what he's got and then he's out. This is a system that many teams seem to use, but it's a problem when you have a good coach. Taking over a team in a rebuilding process sets a team back by about three years. You need new coaches, new players, new schemes. Usually you do it to get rid of a bad coach, not a good one. Spagnuolo has already proven his system works when last year he brought a 1-15 team to 7-9 and second in the division. His conservative game in which he plays for field position is something Ram fans haven't seen in a long time and aren't use to it.

Scott Linehan took over the St. Louis Rams for the 2006 season. The team was before under Mike Martz and was starting to go downhill. Scott Linehan had a chance to take a decent team and bring them back to winning, but after an 8-8 season, he brought them to 3-13. Scott Linehan was one of the, if not the worst coach the Rams franchise has ever had dating back to their years in Cleveland. The team was destroyed. Steve Spagnuola took over that team, but the rebuilding process for a team with so little talent and who barely have any draft picks remain, takes years.

The rebuilding was starting to pay off though as the Rams seemingly became a playoff contender. But did everyone forget about the lockout? The Rams who are one of the youngest teams got no time to practice. Many of their key players are in their first three years (Sam Bradford, Roger Saffold, James Laurinaitis, Robert Quinn, Lance Kendricks).

The Rams also have a new offensive coordinator who they did not get to practice with. Josh McDaniels took over after Pat Shurmur took a head coaching job in Cleveland. Though they have only two games with a score of more than sixteen points and the offense has looked sluggish, there are those times where you can see that it will gel together. And they never got to practice. Sam Bradford needs time to learn the offense and if Spagnuola goes, that most likely means McDaniels will go. That can ruin Bradford giving him three offensive coordinators and two head coaches in three years.

Injuries have also piled up on the Rams due to lack of conditioning. Spagnuolo's defense has some games where they let the big plays go. But the Rams have ten defensive players on injured reserve. The defense you have now doesn't show a good example of a real Spagnuolo defense like he had in New York. The Rams also lost some players on offense, especially in the receiving core (Danny Amendola, Mark Clayton, Greg Salas). All in all Spagnuolo has key players out for multiple games at a time (Sam Bradford, Steven Jackson, Danny Amedola, Roger Saffold, Jason Smith).

The Rams want to win badly. The players play for him and they love him. Any person can see he is a good coach. When asked about Steve Spagnuolo, Jimmy Johnson said "Football is a game of winning...but it's not always the coaches." Tim Ryan even went on to say when announcing a Rams game that Stan Kreonke should keep Spagnuolo.

No matter what happens, it will be a mistake to fire Steve Spagnuolo after the season. He should be given one more year on the hot seat.

Peterson Returned Against the Rams Again as the Cardinals Win

Cardinal 23, Rams 20

For the second time in three weeks the Arizona Cardinals played the St. Louis Rams. Though the points were a little higher the second time around both games were almost identical. In the beginning of both games the Rams had a small lead but blew it in the end. In both games rookie Patrick Peterson ran for over 80 yards on a punt return. But the main difference in this game was the return of RB Beanie Wells who did not play in the first game.

FIRST QUARTER

The Rams got the ball first but punted it away to the Cardinals, trying to keep it away from Peterson (but as slow as their offense has been it looked a little better this week). Not having QB Kevin Kolb in for the fourth week, backup QB John Skelton took center stage and after only one first down the Cardinals punted it to newly signed Punt Returner Nick Miller, who returned a touchdown and favor giving the Rams a seven point lead. After some possessions the Cardinals finally got close enough and kicked a field goal by Kicker Jay Feeley.

Rams 7, Cardinal 3

SECOND QUARTER

The Cardinals and Rams played back and forth as they just kept giving the ball back. With just a couple of minutes left the Rams received and went 63 yards to kick a field by Josh Brown and go up by seven.

Rams 10, Cardinals 3

THIRD QUARTER

The Cardinals received first and went 61 yards to make Jay Feely's second field goal and bring to within four. But the Rams could not answer. Shortly after Beanie who already over 100 yards scored a touchdown for the lead. But the Rams could not answer again and punted it Patrick Peterson who returned the punt for 80 yards and a touchdown.

Cardinals 20, Rams 10

FOURTH QUARTER

The Rams (who only scored one game with more than sixteen points this season) did not give up. After just two plays in, Josh Brown kicked his second field goal to bring it within a touchdown. A couple of drives later the Rams again went down the field but this time with a touchdown from QB Sam Bradford to WR Brandon Lloyd tying the game. But the next possession the Cardinals went down for another good Jay Feely kick sealing the victory.

Cardinal 23, Rams 20

Cardinals Pro - Patrick Peterson's punt return for 80 yards and Beanie Wells who rushed for over 200 yards.

Cardinals Con - The offensive line let pressure come from the Rams all day to John Skelton.

Rams Pro - The pass defense kept WR Larry Fitzgerald from being a factor.

Rams Con - While the Rams have the eighth best pass defense, their rush defense is last as Beanie Wells ran all over them.

Game and Dog of Week 12 2011-2012

GAME OF THE WEEK

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions

The Lions are in a meaningless game that's destined to be a high scoring affair. This may be a last real challenge for the Packers to stay perfect but this is more for the Lions who want to stay strong for the wildcard race.

Lions 39, Packers 34

DOG OF THE WEEK

Arizona Cardinals at St. Louis Rams

This weeks meaningless game is a battle for last in the NFC West. Rams lost off a punt return last time and got embarrassed last week.

Rams 14, Cardinals 10

Week 12 Power Rankings 2011-2012

The top 8 spots don't move as the Packers get the first spot again. The 49ers keep second as they run away with their division. The Saints are ahead of the NFC South due the Falcons not being the team that they were predicted to be. Pittsburgh may have lost twice to the Ravens but the Ravens don't always show up. The Patriots now have a two game lead in their division but Miami is coming back with three big wins in a row after they started winless.

1(1)-Green Bay Packers-(11-0)-The game on Thanksgiving may be the only thing standing in the way to 16-0

2(2)-San Francisco 49ers-(9-1)-Staying the second best.

3(3)-New Orleans Saints-(7-3)-The NFC holds the top three teams.

4(4)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(7-3)-Coming off a bye that they need badly.

5(5)-New England Patriots-(7-3)-Could they have dominated more.

6(6)-Baltimore Ravens-(7-3)-Showing the Bengals exactly where they stand in the division.

10(12)-Atlanta Falcons-(6-4)-Back in the top ten.

11(15)-Oakland Raiders-(6-4)-Back to where they were at the beginning of the season.

12(9)-New York Jets-(5-5)-Looks like this year is bust instead of Superbowl.

13(11)-New York Giants-(6-4)-A division only few would predict.

14(13)-Cincinnati Bengals-(6-4)-Still a good team but not as good as the Ravens or Steelers.

15(14)-Buffalo Bills-(5-5)-After Fitzpatrick got his contract, the Bills went down hill.

16(18)-Dallas Cowboys-(6-4)-Made the Redskins now completely irrelevant to the East race.

17(16)-Tennessee Titans-(5-5)-Two game behind is a lot when it's a good Houston team desperate for the playoffs.

18(21)-Philadelphia Eagles-(4-6)-Vince Young lead them to a win and to stay in the race.

19(17)-San Diego Chargers-(4-6)-We all want to see Norv Turner get fired already!

20(19)-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(4-6)-Their schedule is just too tough for them.

21(23)-Denver Broncos-(5-5)-Tebow can win but when he starts playing tougher opponents remember her can't throw.

22(20)-Kansas City Chiefs-(4-6)-You can say maybe they are the streakiest team there is.

23(25)-Seattle Seahawks-(4-6)-They are trying to make a last minute run at San Francisco.

24(29)-Cleveland Browns-(4-6)-Another low scoring game with the Browns.

25(22)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(3-7)-There division was suppose to be one of the toughest to be part of..

26(24)-Washington Redskins-(3-7)-Just a horrible slide of losses.

27(26)-Arizona Cardinals-(3-7)-One of the worst performances by the 49ers and they still lost big.

28(31)-Miami Dolphins-(3-7)-Q: What is going on in Miami? A: Sparano wants to keep is job.

29(27)-Carolina Panthers-(2-8)-They just CAM not win.

30(28)-Minnesota Vikings-(2-8)-Keep getting closer to their third win.

31(30)-St. Louis Rams-(2-8)-Sad outing versus the Seahawks.

32(32)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-10)-Maybe their bye is what they need to win, or a week not to lose.

Seahawks Stomp On The Rams

Seahawks 24, Rams 7

After an early lead, the Rams quickly let the game get away as the Seahawks improved to four wins.

Seahawks Pro - The defense. They stopped Steven Jackson all day and stopped Brandon Lloyd after his first touchdown.

Seahawks Con - Multiple penalties hurt them at wrong times.

Rams Pro - The defensive line was all over Tavaris Jackson all game, especially a hurt Chris Long.

Rams Con - Offensive line didn't give Steven Jackson his need blocks and they let Sam Bradford get sacked five times.

Week 11 Power Ranking 2011-2012

Every time the Packers made a Superbowl, they made a repeat appearance the following year. It looks like they are headed that way as they keep the number one spot from the beginning of the season. The 49ers stay in second as everyone in the NFC West one last week, the first time since the 2002 re-alignment. Saints stay third heading into their bye week, one of the four last teams to do so. Pittsburgh come back into the top 4. The Patriots get their first win in a while to take the 5th spot.

1(1)-Green Bay Packers-(10-0)-They've got to lose one. Don't they?

2(2)-San Francisco 49ers-(8-1)-The Giants were one of their tougher tests of the season.

3(3)-New Orleans Saints-(7-3)-No other teams are with in a game of the first two.

4(5)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(7-3)-Showed the Bengals, they still have much to learn.

5(6)-New England Patriots-(6-3)-Finally some room.

6(4)-Baltimore Ravens-(6-3)-They seem to play to the whatever level their opponent is.

7(9)-Houston Texans-(7-3)-They finally get their bye in week 11 after no team had in week 10.

8(10)-Chicago Bears-(6-3)-Hester is a historical player.

9(7)-New York Jets-(5-4)-They got swept by the Patriots, the worst thing they could of done.

10(8)-Detroit Lions-(6-3)-Let the Bears catch up.

11(11)-New York Giants-(6-3)-You have to score TDs to beat the 49ers.

12(12)-Atlanta Falcons-(5-4)-They really have been a disappointment this year.

13(13)-Cincinnati Bengals-(6-3)-Not to the next level quite yet.

14(14)-Buffalo Bills-(5-4)-A demolition...by the other team, not them.

15(15)-Oakland Raiders-(5-4)-Either Palmer is back or Norv Turner sucks...tough call!

16(18)-Tennessee Titans-(5-4)-Stop Cam and you got no problems with the Panthers.

17(16)-San Diego Chargers-(4-5)-Norv Turner's hot seat is getting just that much warmer.

18(21)-Dallas Cowboys-(5-4)-Took control of the Bills and in a big way.!

19(17)-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(4-5)-Freeman is a turnover machine.

20(19)-Kansas City Chiefs-(4-5)-Looking like the beggining of the Season for them.

21(20)-Philadelphia Eagles-(3-6)-Another loss and another Vick injury. 1 Mil down the drain.

22(26)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(3-6)-Keeping Indy winless.

23(27)-Denver Broncos-(4-5)-Tebow is just another running back.

24(22)-Washington Redskins-(3-6)-And yet another loss.

25(28)-Seattle Seahawks-(3-6)-They can be dangerous at times because they are a wild team.

26(29)-Arizona Cardinals-(3-6)-Seems like everyone but the Rams beat the Eagles.

27(23)-Carolina Panthers-(2-6)-Cam's performance last week and lack of wins may be telling us something.

28(25)-Minnesota Vikings-(2-7)-Yes it was a big loss but it was to the defending Superbowl champs.

29(24)-Cleveland Browns-(3-6)-An old NFL rivalry and the Red River Rivalry are reborn.

30(30)-St. Louis Rams-(2-7)-Sam Bradford is finding out that your Sophomore year is tougher than your Rookie.

31(31)-Miami Dolphins-(2-7)-Both the Rams and Dolphins won this weekend.

32(32)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-10)-This week was on of the weeks they should of taken advantage of.

Mid-Season Awards Part 1

MVP

Aaron Rodgers - QB - Green Bay

This one was pretty obvious. His team is undefeated and his offense is unstoppable.

Other Contenders

Peyton Manning (QB) - Yes he hasn't played, but look how bad his team is without him.

Matt Forte (RB) - Can anyone say breakout season or give me money? Bears wouldn't be close without him.

Alex Smith (QB) - Smith has always been mediocre but this year he looks like how a first round pick should.

Ryan Fitzpatrick (QB) - It has been so long since the Bills have been good and Ryan is the reason.

BEST QB

Aaron Rodgers - QB - Green Bay

You win MVP, how would you not win QB?

Other Contenders

Alex Smith (QB) - He's done what he needed to do.

Ryan Fitzpatrick (QB) - He might not have the best numbers but he has had great numbers.

Drew Brees (QB) - The Saints might have had some bad losses but he's been great.

Eli Manning (QB) - Eli is always under pressure but recently he's been a need for the Giants.

BEST RUSHER

Matt Forte - RB - Chicago Bears

He's been so important to the Mike Martz offense.

Other Contenders

Lesean Mccoy (RB) - He is a leading rusher in the NFL.

Adrian Peterson (RB) - He leads the NFL with nine TDs

Fred Jackson (RB) - He is considered the top back by many.

Darren Sproles (RB) - He's been explosive and a huge pick up.

BEST RECEIVER

Calvin Johnson - WR - Detroit Lions

He has eleven TDs in seven games.

Other Contenders

Jimmy Graham (TE) - The only tight end on this list and he's in the second spot.

Steve Smith (WR) - He has a new QB and he is having quiet a year.

Wes Welker (WR) - He leads the NFL with most receiving yards.

Greg Jennings (WR) - Aaron Rodger's number one guy.

Chicago Beats Vick and the Eagles

Chicago 30, Eagles 24

Micheal Vick and his Eagles have been one of the most disappointing teams of the season and today they lost to a game they should of won. Lovie Smith is a good coach and his Chicago team shows it. They are playoff bound and one of the best teams in the NFC and NFL.

Bears Pros - The defense put up too much pressure for Micheal Vick.

Bears Cons - Matt Forte had two big fumbles.

Eagles Pro - Lesean Mccoy kept the Eagles in it.

Eagles Con - DeSean Jackson did not play to his normal level.

Arizona May Just Have Ended the Rams Season Hopes

Cardinals 19, Rams 13

Two of the bottom five teams battled it out this week in an NFC West rivalry. While both teams didn't look bad, not one looked exceptional. This game went to overtime as the cardinals won with a 99 yard punt return from rookie Peterson.

Cardinals Pro - Peterson held new Ram Brandon Lloyd to a non-factor late in the game, he also had the game winning punt return.

Cardinals Con - QB John Skelton had two safeties in two consecutive drives.

Rams Pro - The defense had multiple negative plays and stopped Fitzgerald most of the game. Steven Jackson had his second 100 yard game in a row.

Rams Con - Questionable play calling on offense by Josh McDaniels

Game and Dog of Week 9 2011-2012

GAME OF THE WEEK

Ravens at Steelers

This week has some good match ups but the biggest and most important is this division rivalry. The Ravens have a lead on the Steelers already winning versus them in week one, in which they destroyed the Steelers. But recently the Steelers have played exceptional while the Raven played sub-par. Both have only two losses and a win by the Steelers will tie their Head-to-Head.

Steelers 20, Ravens 13

DOG OF THE WEEK

Rams at Cardinals

This division rivalry has nothing to offer but the battle for last place. It looks like Kolb is out but Bradford is back in.

St. Louis Simply Surprise Saints

Rams 31, Saints 21

Yes, there was an article last year with a similar name (Arizona Simply Surprises Saints). Maybe every year New Orleans just underestimates one NFC West team. Or at least Drew Brees does who really wanted a touchdown to keep his 34 game streak going. He got that TD in the final seconds.

Rams Pro - Everything from Offense to Defense to Special teams.

Rams Con - Some false starts and late penalties almost shot them in the foot.

Saints Pro - Nothing! Horrible display after a 62-7 defeat of the Colts the week before.

Saints Con - Everything from Offense to Defense to Special teams.

The Hot Seat

It is that time of the year where coaches get fired. Here an analysis in every coach. The levels are Super Cold, Cold, Warm, Hot, Red Hot.

Arizona Cardinal-Ken Whisenhunt-Warm

Since 2007, Ken Whisenhunt has been the Cardinal head coach and brought them to a Superbowl in 2008. In 2009 they went back to the playoffs but that was with Kurt Warner. Since then they've sucked and this seat has been slowly getting warmer.

Atlanta Falcons-Mike Smith-Cold

Despite the Falcons slow start this year, this seat is safe. Mike Smith has been consistently good.

Baltimore Ravens-John Harbaugh-Super Cold

Everyone knows the Ravens are good and every year John Harbaugh keeps bringing them to the playoffs. The only thing warm about this seat though is they don't show up every game (most recently the monday night Jaguar game.)

Buffalo Bills-Chan Gailey-Cold

Only the second year as the Bills coach and so much improvement for a team that has been bad since the 90s. Chan has made them in to a Playoff  spot contending team, and made Ryan Fitzpatrick a Franchise QB.

Carolina Panthers-Ron Rivera-Cold

The new coach of the panthers and he has already doubled their record from last year. The Panthers still need much improvement, but he is heading them in the right direction.

Chicago Bears-Lovie Smith-Warm

Every year he is in a hot seat. But Why? He consistently brings a good team and brought them to the Superbowl with Rex Grossman as the QB.

Cincinnati Bengals-Marvin Lewis-Cold

Marvin Lewis has been the coach for the Bengals since 2003. In that time he has almost a .500 record. The past few years they have been disappointing but this year with Andy Dalton as QB they have a winning record.

Cleveland Browns-Pat Shurmur-Cold

Pat Shurmur is the new coach for the Browns. Last year he was the Rams offensive coordinator and helped bring a team from 1-15 to 7-9, when he left they went 0-6. He was a good pickup and should be the coach they need.

Dallas Cowboys-Jason Garret-Cold

Wade Phillips was a bad coach and Jason Garret took over in 2010. They still need improvements but he is making Romo and the team into men.

Denver Broncos-John Fox-Cold

John Fox took over this year but not much seems approved. If the Broncos don't look good he may be there for two years.

Detroit Lions-Jim Shwartz-Super Cold

One of the teams who've been bad for decades has become good. Jim Shwartz is on track for coach of the year.

Green Bay Packers-Mike McCarthy-Super Cold

A seat can not get colder. Anytime you win the Superbowl you have the safest job in the NFL.

Houston Texans-Gary Kubiak-Cold

Since 2006 Gary has been the Coach but they haven't made the playoffs. That doesn't mean they aren't good and this may be the first year they make the playoffs.

Indianapolis Colts-Jim Caldwell-Warm

Losing your star QB for a year is an excuse to do bad but the Colts have been horrible (just lost 62-7 versus the Saints). And let's not lie, since Tony Dungy left the team has been slowly going down.

Jacksonville Jaguars-Jack Del Rio-Hot

Jack Del Rio has been the coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars for sometime now but they never amounted to anything. His recent win against Baltimore has bought him time but if he doesn't have a winning season he should be fired at the season.

Kansas City Chiefs-Todd Haley-Cold

Last year the Chiefs went to the playoffs. This year they had a tough start but Todd Haley stopped shaving and they started winning. Superstitions much?

Miami Dolphins-Tony Sparano-Red Hot

Tony has been coach since 2008 and in it has gotten worse every year. He just blew a 15 point lead in three minutes to the Broncos. If he loses this week expect the first firing if the season. Also quick note; Bush was a bust once again.

Minnesota Vikings-Leslie Frazier-Cold

The Vikings don't look great but a new coach is usually safe.

New England Patriots-Bill Belichick-Super Cold

The Patriots have been the best team of the 2000s and Bill is one of the most tenured coachs in the league. He will never have a reason to worry here.

New Orleans Saints-Sean Payton-Super Cold

Sean took over in 2006, a year after Hurricane Katrina. The Saints were a mess but he made them into a Superbowl winning team. This year they may be the best team besides the Packers.

New York Giants-Tom Coughlin-Warm

Yes they won a Superbowl but recently they haven't look so good. He'll be safe for the rest of the year but depending on how the Giants play the rest of the season, a hot seat will be on next year.

New York Jets-Rex Ryan-Super Cold

Two back to back AFC Championship appearances and one of the best coaches in the league, you'd got to be crazy to think he is not the guy for J-E-T-S fans.

Oakland Raiders-Hue Jackson-Cold

Hue has really turned this team around. In a few years under him, they can be Superbowl contending.

Philadelphia Eagles-Andy Reid-Warm

A so called 'Dream Team' mad him look like a jerk this year even if he told his team to stop. Micheal Vick's performance this year makes Andy under question about his decision making.

Pittsburgh Steelers-Mike Tomlin-Cold

Mike Tomlin had big shoes to fill after Bill Cowher's departure but he did just that. He is a great coach.

San Diego Chargers-Norv Turner-Warm

Rex Ryan stated that if he was the Chargers coach he would of one multiple Superbowls already. Guess what! He's probably right. Norv Turner will never bring them where they want to be. They need a better coach.

San Francisco 49ers-Jim Harbaugh-Super Cold

He is having the best rookie coach season of the season. The 49ers are 5-1 and winning for the first time in a long time.

Seattle Seahawks-Pete Carrol-Cold

Pete Carrol is a horrible pro coach. But for some reason it seems like Seattle loves him.

St. Louis Rams-Steve Spagnola-Hot

A lockout, multiple injuries, and the hardest opening schedule in the NFL gives Steve some good excuses. Don't expect him on the chopping block until next year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Raheem Morris-Cold

This is a team with many expectations but it may not be there year for the playoff. Raheem Morris may have to wait another year.

Tennessee Titans-Mike Munchak-Cold

Jeff Fisher has been there forever but this year Mike Munchak took over and the team is competitive and Matt Hasselback is being revived.

Washington Redskins-Mike Shanahan-Cold

The only questions he really is facing, "Why hire your son?" and "Can't you figure out a QB already?".

Week 8 Power Rankings 2011-2012

1(1)-Green Bay Packers-(7-0)-Hasn't moved from here all season.

2(3)-New England Patriots-(5-1)-A bye week and they move up one.

30(31)-Miami Dolphins-(0-6)-Gave up a 15 point lead in the last few minutes.

31(32)-St. Louis Rams-(0-6)-Bradford will be out another week, probably an idea to keep him healthy versus the Cardinal

32(30)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-7)-Not even the Rams lost that bad.

Ryan's Team Beats Turner's Team

Jets 27, Chargers 21

Before this game, an announcer asked Rex Ryan about the Chargers and all he could say is how would of already win multiple Superbowls with them. Great way to make your team feel good. Turner quickly responded with asking "Where are the rings?". Turner didn't make his own coaching ability sound good. But all in all, the Chargers have more talent but the Jets have the better coach and that won them the game

Jets Pro - WR Burress had his comeback game.

Jets Con -They came out slow and the Chargers took control early/

Chargers Pro - They had some great runs yesterday.

Chargers Con - QB Rivers let this game go.

Jets Keep Rival Dolphins Winless

Jets 24, Dolphins

The Dolphins looked horrible coming off a bye week because Rex Ryan coached his team to a win after two tough losses. The Jets are 3-3 as the Dolphins are 0-5.

Jets Pro - Finally getting a much needed win and a lot thanks to CB Revis

Jets Con - Though they won, it was against the Dolphins.

Dolphins Pro - QB Moore seems to be a positive.

Dolphins Con - Everything.

Green Bay Stays Perfect as the Rams Stay Winless

Packers 24, Rams 3

The Rams actually played well besides for the second quarter when the Packers just went unstoppable. In the second half the Rams stopped Green Bay from scoring at all. But Spagnola doesn't care about personal victories as he has said, but only wins, something he has not gotten this year.

Packers Pro - Basically doing what keeps getting them wins.

Packers Con - They give a lot of yards up. Even if they don't give up points it doesn't look great for stats.

Rams Pro - Bradford is so accurate and Jackson was obviously missed by the Rams.

Rams Con - They just can't get into the end zone.

Lions Advance to Five Undefeated

Lions 24, Bears 13

Lions took control of the game with the first touchdown of the game to Megatron. While no team played spectacular, the Bears killed themselves with stupid penalties and giving up big plays. With a win versus long time rivals the Lions are 5-0 for the first time since 1956.

Lions Pro - Scott Linehan did a good job calling the offensive plays against the Bears who pride themselves in not giving up big plays.

Rams Schedule May Be Political Move for LA

The Los Angeles Rams played their last game in the Coliseum in 1994. They've been in Los Angeles for 49 years. That year Los Angeles lost both of its football team. The second biggest market would not build a new stadium for the Rams or Raiders, and the late Georgia Frontiere of the Rams and Al Davis of the Raiders moved their teams. The Rams to St. Louis and the Raiders to Oakland.
Many claim Frontiere was kicked out of Los Angeles and that Davis was just using Los Angeles until Oakland made a new stadium. The Rams and the Raiders however were not the only team that has played in Los Angeles. In 1960 the Los Angeles Chargers played their first season. After that season though they left do to too much competition with the Rams.
Los Angeles has been trying to get a team back for sometime now. Over the past couple of years articles have been popping up about a Los Angeles move. But recently they've become more frequent. While the Vikings, Raiders, Chargers, Jaguars, and Bills have all headlined those articles the Rams have headlined them even that much more besides for maybe the Chargers. A move Los Angeles and the Rams might be very happy to see.
Recently Stan Kroenke a Missouri native became the majority owner of the Rams after some careful transactions with his other teams to not break NFL's dual ownership rule on other big teams such as the Denver Avalanche and Denver Nuggets. He is a business man first and a move to Los Angeles might be the move to make to bring the Rams worth north of 1 Billion. But Kroenke is playing it cool. He leaves simple comments to keep St. Louis of the edge. Kroenke has stated "I'm going to attempt to do everything that I can to keep the Rams in St. Louis. Just as I did everything that I could to bring the team to St. Louis in 1995. I believe my actions speak for themselves." But take that with a grain of salt as Kroenke is a member of the Los Angeles Stadium Working Group Committee.
AEG (Alderac Entertainment Group) got approval to build a top of the line NFL Stadium next to the Staples center. Now they just need approval from the NFL and a team. AEG is promising to privately fund the stadium. AEG has talked with multiple teams about moving to Los Angeles but they have had dealing with Kroenke before. In fact they have been partners. Together they manage Broomfield  Event Center in Denver, where Kroenke owned the Nuggets for a long time.
St. Louis is a mid-sized market town getting smaller everyday but Los Angeles is the second biggest market only behind New York and they can easily support two teams. But didn't the rams recently move from Los Angeles? They did but St. Louis has a clause that they need to have a top eight stadium. They don't. So St. Louis needs to come up with a sufficient plan of a new stadium by February of 2012. It doesn't look like they will be able to. St. Louis doesn't have the money. Webster University Sports Economist Patrick Rishe in an interview with Fox 2 News says "I don't think that Stan Kroenke will get a new stadium in St. Louis for two reasons. One, I don't think he's willing to put up enough of his own money, and two, St. Louisans are going to be reluctant to put up their own money themselves."
St. Louis fans probably will not want to support a struggling team. The Rams seemed like they were becoming a good team last year when they left the season 7-9 after 1-15 the year before. But the Rams have the toughest early schedule in the league. In boards many Ram fans are wondering if this schedule was purely political in nature to help bring a bad team to leave St. Louis.
The Rams are in the top five worst teams filling up their stadium. That's because St. Louis in the majority are bandwagon fans or Cardinal fans. Since the Rams are currently losing, the stadium even has a tougher time filling up. But Los Angeles has the capacity to fill eight games a season definitely when a new team and stadium are there.
St. Louis originally had the football Cardinals but they moved to Arizona. There is still a big Cardinal fan base there but St. Louis was never a football town, it was always a baseball town and will remain that way if the Rams stay bad. Los Angeles on the other hand is so diverse that no one sport controls the city. The Rams already have a fan base in Los Angeles County and Orange County. The Rams never really belonged in St. Louis.
The Rams seem like the most appropriate choice to move to Los Angeles. But that doesn't mean they will. Another likely team is the San Diego Chargers. The Chargers can't fill the stadium and have a small fan base in Los Angeles that is growing by the year. Like all teams their value would raise immensely. On top of that the Chargers have stated their intentions about leaving. The Raiders have met with the AEG and if they would leave it would be for the new stadium. With the recent death of Al Davis this means their chances could increase or decrease by a lot depending on what happens with the ownership. The Vikings have had concern about their stadium over the last couple of years and with the avalanche on their dome last year they complain more. But what are the chance Minnesota will allow themselves to lose another team to Los Angeles after they lost the Lakers? Definitely when the Vikings have a huge fan base. The Bills need a new stadium but if they move it will probably be to Toronto where they already play a home game every year. Also, the Bills are playing good right now, something they haven't done in such a long time. Buffalo doesn't want to miss out on that. The Jaguars are another good fit for Los Angeles. They are last in value and last in filling a stadium up. However, owner Wayne Weaver has turned down many offers to move and expressed his wanting to stay in Jacksonville.
No matter who moves, Los Angeles will have a team soon. It will be a move from another city and not an expansion the NFL has stated. Who? Only time will tell, but the good bets are on the Rams or Chargers.

17(15)-Chicago Bears-(2-2)-A win versus Detroit in crucial.

18(18)-Tennessee Titans-(3-1)-Better than expected.

19(22)-San Francisco 49ers-(3-1)-Eagle win proves they are not just a trap game win at most.

20(20)-Buffalo Bills-(3-1)-They finally got their first loss.

21(24)-Carolina Panthers-(1-3)-Waiting for that next step win.

22(26)-Cleveland Browns-(2-2)-What to say about Cleveland?

23(19)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-4)-Looks like they'll get their first win this week.

24(21)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(1-3)-Just a downfall from last season.

25(30)-Cincinnati Bengals-(2-2)-Are they good or is Buffalo a farce?

26(23)-Kansas City Chiefs-(1-3)-First win is hope.

27(28)-Arizona Cardinals-(1-3)-RB Wells was the missing force two weeks ago and now it is obvious he is needed constantly.

28(25)-Denver Broncos-(1-3)-Complaining about Orton but the QB isn't the only problem here.

29(32)-Seattle Seahawks-(1-3)-At least they have a win.

30(27)-Miami Dolphins-(0-4)-Competing for first overall pick.

31(29)-St. Louis Rams-(0-4)-Most disappointing team of the season.

32(31)-Minnesota Vikings-(0-4)-Looks like Mcnabb was the problem in Washington.

Tampa Keeps Indy Winless

Buccaneers 24, Indianapolis 17

Besides for the Sunday night game this week all the national games have been great this year and..........BUCS/COLTS was no exception. The Colts has Peyton Manning as an assistant coach for the second game in a row. How much can he help? Surprisingly a lot. The defense looked good because the offense play calling was Manning-esque. However, the Bucs running game just was too much, even for a smart defense.

Buccaneer Pros - Running game from Torain was the biggest factor for the win.

Buccaneer Cons - Big penalties neglected a lot of good plays.

Colts Pro - Manning in the booth makes them competitive.

Colts Con - Many missed tackles gave a lot of yards and first downs up.

Top 3 things That Have Been Effected From Lockout

Many things have been effected from the short offseason, but these three top it.

#3-Officiating

How this happened is beyond anyone, but look at every game you have watched. There are horrible calls this year. The fact is there has been so many to just even go through.

#2-Wide Receivers

Every team has had trouble here. Many receivers have had trouble with catching and dropped passes. Worst team here has been the Rams.

#1-Secondary

The most obvious. Not enough time due to the lockout has really affected the secondary and QBs are taking advantage. Many QBs this year have thrown for over 300 yards, even Rookie Cam Newton who had three out four games for over 300 yards. Worst team here has been the Patriots.

Redskins Hold On VS Rams

Redskins 17, Rams 10

Though it was not a blowout, early in the game was all Redskins. It was just some Rams self-stabs (mostly dropped passes by WR Sims-Walker) that got the skins there. At a 17-0 halftime, the Rams seemed done. Washington RB Torain came out running up and down. But the Ram's defense led by LB Laurinaitis kept them in, and the Rams offense scored 10 unanswered points. But in the end the Rams offense couldn't capitalize. This was the easiest of their six games but they are 0-4.

Redskins Pro - Defensive line stopped Jackson. RB Torain had a big day vs the Rams

Redskins Con -Grossman starts showing his true colors. The special teams kept hitting the PR Pettis before he could could catch fairly causing 15 yard penalties twice.

Rams Pro - Bradford is on, he throws so accurate, he was a little jittery but how can you not when you constantly get hit. Pettis took hits like a man and made some nice catches, it's the Boise State in him. Special teams was great, nice coverage.

Rams Con - Way too many dropped passes, most notable Sims-Walker and TE Kendricks.

2(7)-Baltimore Ravens-(2-1)-Only problem is you don't know who will show up every week.

3(2)-New England Patriots-(2-1)-That's the pass defense letting them up.

4(5)-New Orleans Saints-(2-1)-Big win versus a good Houston team.

5(3)-New York Jets-(2-1)-The rush defense has been exposed as a farce.

6(9)-Houston Texans-(2-1)-You have to get a head start on the division. Rumor; Manning in DEC

7(12)-Detroit Lions-(3-0)-Lions break the top 10, but don't jump on the bandwagon yet.

8(13)-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(2-1)-They haven't had an easy schedule.

9(4)-Atlanta Falcons-(1-2)-Disappointing so far.

10(8)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(2-1)-Actually they look kinda weak.

11(6)-Philadelphia Eagles-(1-2)-Doesn't the 'Dream team' include needing to be healthy?

12(14)-Dallas Cowboys-(2-1)-Romo is proving he is a leader.

13(15)-New York Giants-(2-1)-Manning is proving critics wrong.

14(17)-Oakland Raiders-(2-1)-They are a good team!

15(10)-Chicago Bears-(1-2)-That punt penalty was BS!

16(11)-San Diego Chargers-(2-1)-Way overrated.

17(19)-Washington Redskins-(2-1)-Grossman should be showing his true colors soon.

18(21)-Tennessee Titans-(2-1)-The Britt lose is a season changer.

27(22)-Miami Dolphins-(0-3)-Bush has been no help.

28(23)-Arizona Cardinals-(1-2)-You lost to Seattle. Period!

29(24)-St. Louis Rams-(0-3)-If they go 2-5 in the first 7, they will win that division.

30(30)-Cincinnati Bengals-(1-2)-You blew it versus SF.

31(27)-Minnesota Vikings-(0-3)-Football is a 60 minute game, not 30.

32(32)Seattle Seahawks-(1-2)-That win means nada. Pete Carrol is still one of the worst coaches in the NFL

Ravens Rally Rams

Ravens 37, Rams 7

Joe Flacco and rookie WR Torrey Smith ran up and down on the St. Louis Rams all day. They scored 21 points together, in the first quarter. To just be frank, the Rams just didn't look ready.

Ravens Pro - The passing game was unstoppable.

Ravens Con - Calling timeouts when it's clear they are going to win.

Rams Pro - Bradford wasn't so bad. Cut the kid slack.

Rams Con - Not ready for tough teams.

Bills Comeback Versus Patriots

Bills 34, Patriots 31

If you would of guessed the Bills would be 3-0, you would be a psychic. But if you would of guessed Tom Brady would throw four interceptions versus the Bills than well you would be a prophet. Probably the biggest upset this season, Buffalo came back from a 21 point deficit to be New England. That's Buffalo's second comeback in two weeks.

Bills Pro - Fitzpatrick; what a showing and poise.

Bills Con - Need to learn how to control the game from the start.

Patriots Pro - Tom Brady's first half of the game.

Patriots Con - Defense just sucks.

Game and Dog 2011 Week 3

GAME OF THE WEEK

Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears

Probably the best rival in all of the NFL also has the add on of being the top two NFC teams last year. While the Bears won the division last year. The Packers won the Superbowl. Cutler has no protection and the Packers are a good defense. This can be an ugly one.

Packers 24, Chicago Bears 13

DOG OF THE WEEK

Jacksonville Jaguars at Carolina Panthers

Both have rookie QBs starting but Carolina obviously has the better one. Newton is looking for his first win, expect a blowout.

Panthers 32, Jaguars 10

Week 3 Power Rankings 2011

1(1)-Green Bay Packers-(2-0)-Had a little scare last week vs Newton.

2(2)-New England Patriots-(2-0)-They look incredible except pass defense.

3(3)-New York Jets-(2-0)-Two AFC East teams in the top three.

4(8)-Atlanta Falcons-(1-1)-Many wonder what would of happened if Vick stayed in.

5(10)-New Orleans Saints-(1-1)-Tough lost first week, nice win last week.

6(6)-Philadelphia Eagles-(1-1)-Got to feel bad for Vick last week vs Atlanta.

7(3)-Baltimore Ravens-(1-1)-What a loss!

8(7)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(1-1)-Easy win vs Seattle and this week vs Indy.

9(14)-Houston Texans-(2-0)-Big test the week vs the Saints.

10(5)-Chicago Bears-(1-1)-Let's see if last week was just a hiccup.

11(9)-San Diego Chargers-(1-1)-Lost to Brady, don't worry about them.

12(16)-Detroit Lions-(2-0)-When have they been this high up?

13(11)-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(1-1)-There is only so many top twelve spots.

14(17)-Dallas Cowboys-(1-1)-Romo got them up here.

15(18)-New York Giants-(1-1)-Questionable if they deserved the Ram win.

16(12)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(1-1)-They need a QB.

17(20)-Oakland Raiders-(1-1)-Still can't beat anyone outside the division.

18(13)-Kansas City Chiefs-(0-2)-They should be lower.

19(24)-Washington Redskins-(2-0)-If they could move up more than five than they would.

20(15)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-2)-We need you Peyton.

21(23)-Tennessee Titans-(1-1)-Big win vs the number seven Ravens.

22(21)-Miami Dolphins-(0-2)-They've played two tough teams and looked decent.

23(22)-Arizona Cardinals-(1-1)-They got the easiest schedule in the NFC West.

24(19)-St. Louis Rams-(0-2)-Maybe the hardest schedule in the NFC West.

25(29)-Buffalo Bills-(2-0)-Not entirely convinced yet.

26(25)-San Francisco 49ers-(1-1)-Did hold the lead vs the Cowboys.

27(26)-Minnesota Vikings-(0-2)-You could of beaten Tampa Bay, but blew it.

28(32)-Denver Broncos-(1-1)-No Tebow time last week.

29(31)-Carolina Panthers-(0-2)-Newton throws a lot of YDs but also a lot if INTs.

30(31)-Cincinnati Bengals-(1-1)-Better than expected.

31(28)-Cleveland Browns-(1-1)-Worse than expected.

32(27)Seattle Seahawks-(0-2)-Worst team right now in the NFL.

Giants Take Advantage of Rams Mistakes on MNF

Giants 28, Rams 16

The St. Louis Rams had many mistakes. The Rams actually out played the Giants but two things killed the Rams. First was their red zone offense. Way too many field goals. The second was their mistakes. A muffed punt by rookie Salas, who also dropped a couple of big passes. The next mistake was by Cadillac Williams dropped a lateral which was returned for a touchdown. If you make two of the Rams field goals in the red zone to a touchdown, the Rams win. If you take away the two big mistakes, the Rams win.

Giants Pro - Capitalizing on mistakes.

Giants Con - 3rd down offense was horrendous.

Rams Pro - Defense looked good and Bradford was for the most part on.

Rams Con - Rookie Salas.

Falcons Fly Higher

Falcon 35, Eagles 31

A Micheal Vick injury may have helped the Falcons win late but back up QB Kafka didn't look bad  in fact he could of won the game and he didn't screw it up. WR Maclin screwed up by dropping a game continuing catch. The Falcons, one of the best teams at home looked like the Falcons and jumped back from the Chicago game  last week.

Falcons Pro - Running game was solid.

Falcons Con - Defense let big plays happen.

Eagles Pro - They did control the game despite the loss.

Eagles Con - Vick gave up some big turnovers. Too many trick plays. The O-line didn't protect Vick.

Game and Dog of the Week : Week 2, 2011

GAME OF THE WEEK

Philadelphia Eagles VS Atlanta Falcons

This week's best game also happens to be the Sunday night game, the way the NFL always hopes it is. NFC East division winners, the Eagles will be heading to Atlanta after defeating an injured Ram team. NFC South division winners, the Falcons came off a tough lost to Chicago and will not be looking forward to this week. If Vick doesn't get hit, his return to Atlanta should be victorious.

Eagles 34, Falcons 20

DOG OF THE WEEK

Cincinnati Bengals VS Denver Broncos

The Bengals are coming of a big upset last week, but that was a Brown hiccup. They still have no one good. Denver, to be frank, sucks. But they are at home, that's why they'll win.

Broncos 17, Bengals 10

Power Rankings for Week 2 of 2011-2012

Notes:

The last week numbers are from unpublished power rankings, two weeks before the season started.

The most a team can move up and down is 5 spots a  week.

RANK-(LAST WEEK)-TEAM-(RECORD)-NOTE

1-(1)-Green Bay Packers-(1-0)-The champs stay on top.

2-(3)-New England Patriots-(1-0)-After last night Brady won't stop until he is number 1.

3-(6)-Baltimore Ravens-(1-0)-They might be the team to beat in the AFC.

4-(4)-New York Jets-(1-0)-They keep winning games, no matter how close.

5-(7)-Chicago Bears-(1-0)-What's with all the hatred towards the Bears?

6-(9)-Philadelphia Eagles-(1-0)-When your backup basket case QB calls you a 'Dream Team'...ego check.

7-(2)-Pittsburgh Steelers-(0-1)-Lose like that to a division rival, you gotta lose 5 spots.

8-(5)-Atlanta Falcons-(0-1)-A tough loss last week, next week vs the Eagles will be a real test.

9-(10)-San Diego Chargers-(1-0)-They need to work more on their ST to be higher up.

10-(8)-New Orleans Saints-(0-1)-It was only one loss, and it was to the champs.

11-(13)-Tampa Bay Buccaneers-(0-1)-The lions are a good team and the Bucs played well.

12-(15)-Jacksonville Jaguars-(1-0)-Don't expect them to stay this high next week.

13-(12)-Kansas City Chiefs-(0-1)-The Bill game was just the lockout effect.

14-(18)-Houston Texans-(1-0)-Took advantage of Manning gone.

15-(11)-Indianapolis Colts-(0-1)-Haven't remembered the last time they were even this low.

16-(19)-Detroit Lions-(1-0)-Looks like they finally will live up to expectation.

17-(20)-Dallas Cowboys-(0-1)-If Romo thinks, the cowboys will be good.

18-(14)-New York Giants-(0-1)-Health issues concern this team.

19-(16)-St. Louis Rams-(0-1)-Like NYG, who they play on MNF, health also concerns this team.

20-(21)-Oakland Raiders-(1-0)-New Coaching looks good.

21-(24)-Miami Dolphins-(0-1)-Chad Henne threw for over 400 yards and kept Miami in the game on MNF.

22-(23)-Arizona Cardinals-(1-0)-ESPN ranked them at 16. They beat the Panthers!

23-(17)-Tennessee Titans-(0-1)-Just an 'eh' type of team.

24-(27)-Washington Redskins-(1-0)-If they play like they did last week, they'll be moving up quickly.

25-(26)-San Francisco 49ers-(1-0)-This is a team where you got to wait to see what will come from them.

26-(29)-Minnesota Vikings-(0-1)-McNabb looks like a 'has-been'.

27-(22)-Seattle Seahawks-(0-1)-If it wasn't for 5 spots, they would be lower down.

28-(25)-Cleveland Browns-(0-1)-Teams shouldn't move around to much on week 1, except for a couple.

29-(30)-Buffalo Bills-(1-0)-That win last week will be the only one like that for a long time.

30-(31)-Cincinnati Bengals-(1-0)-Who would of thought? So far undefeated!

31-(32)-Carolina Panthers-(0-1)-The big question is; Will Cam Newton stay that good?

32-(28)-Denver Broncos-(0-1)-Just a mess of a team.

Raiders On the Way to Be Perfect in AFC West

Raiders 23, Broncos 20

Last year the Raiders went 6-0 in their division. Versus the rest of the league they went 2-8. This year may be no different. The Raiders who last night beat the Broncos did just that, beat the Broncos. Both teams looked bad and all together had close to 30 penalties. While Oakland did outplay Denver the only thing on the field that looked good was Raiders running game and special teams. Bronco QB Kyle Orton looks horrible so that helped the Oakland defense looked good, when they were more just lucky.

Raiders Pro - Special teams who did give up a touchdown but besides that blocked a punt, kicked a 63 yard field goal and a 77 yard punt. The running game was great as well. New aggressive play calling from a rookie coach.

Raiders Con - Way too many penalties.

Broncos Pro - Had a punt returned for a TD.

Broncos Con - Also had too many penalties and the offense sucked, from passing to running to the offensive line.

Brady Breaks 500 Yards as the Patriots Rout the Dolphins

Patriots 38, Dolphins 24

Miami QB Chad Henne helped the Dolphins start strong. The whole offense in fact looked good, even newly acquired former Saint HB Reggie Bush. Well at least for the first quarter. After that he wasn't such a big help. Yes, you can argue he had a TD late in the game. But that was from like the two and that is his job. But Bush wasn't the only person new to his team that didn't really help that much. Patriot WR Ochocinco only had one reception. That didn't mean Brady had a bad game. He threw for 517 yards. A Monday Night Football Record.

Patriots Pro - Passing Game was unstoppable. Great start.

Patriots Con - Some penalties held them back, and the defense did let Henne throw for 416 yards.

Dolphins Pro - Henne looked good.

Dolphins Con - Dolphins had trouble getting in the end zone.

Rex Wins Battle of the Ryans

Jets 27. Cowboys 24

A close and epic game didn't have a Jet lead until the final kick. Sanchez did what he had to do, win, like he always does. Romo and the cowboys actually were a surprise this game and pretty impressive. That of course was until Romo's interception, fumble, and the jets blocked a punt for a touchdown. Romo however doesn't deserve all the blame in this game. Football is a team effort.

Jets Pro - Sanchez kept hi team in the game despite Cowboy leads.

Jets Con - They don't look Superbowl ready if the Cowboys are leading them most of the game.

Cowboys Pro - The defense looked great. Really felt comfortable.

Cowboys Con - Romo is making bad decision at key points. The O-line who combined prior to the game only had one start, was bad. Romo was getting pressure all game.

Injuries Help Eagles Soar

Eagles 31. Rams 13

The self-proclaimed "Dream Team" beat St. Louis. The NFL lockout effects have been shown by many injuries around the league in week 1. No different in St. Louis. The Rams took an early lead when Steven Jackson scored on St. Louis' opening drive. After one more run by him next drive he was out. The eagles played well all together and though Vick's passing numbers weren't great his presence did make an effect. While Philadelphia would still have probably won, the game should of been closer. At one time the Rams had Jackson, Amedola, Bradford, Smith, and Bartell out due to injury.

Eagles Pro - Vick made it clear that he can make the big plays.

Eagles Con - Eagles couldn't stop the run, even when starter Jackson was out.

Rams Pro - The running game was outstanding and Williams picked up the slack when Jackson was out.

Rams Con - The offensive line had Bradford rushed all game. To many dropped passes.

Packers Stay On Top

Packers 42, Saints 34

Last season, New Orleans did not let a single opening drive touchdown. The first drive of the game, Green Bay scored a touchdown. On the first Saint drive there was a fumble. Don't get it wrong though New Orleans kept up with Green Bay, even to the last play. The difference between the teams though is Green Bay just looks more athletic and has a better receiving core.

Green Bay Pros- Everything seemed to work for them, even their rookies. Cobb looks good and a great addition to the team.

Green Bay Cons- Nothing comes to mind. They look great. Except Woodson needs to not punch other players.

New Orleans Pros- Brees had over 400 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions.

New Orleans Cons- Many! Play calling, don't put the game in your rookie's hands. Drops, too many dropped passes that were not Brees fault.

2011 Week 1; Game and Dog of the week

GAME OF THE WEEK
New Orleans Saints at Green Bay Packers

This was obvious. The last two Superbowl MVPs square off. Two dominant offenses. This is a big game, if you look at the facts. The team who loses this game, always has a bad season.

Packers - Coming of a season in which they lost 15 players to injury, they still won a Superbowl. Big moves and players coming back, they should now be even better. However, repeating is hard and all the teams will be coming after you.

Saints - Brees will be Brees and the offense will be great. The new rookie looks good too. But I will say it again. The league caught up.

Packers 34, Saints 28

DOG OF THE WEEK

Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns

Both are AFC North teams and both suck.

Browns - Representing the cover of  Madden this year, Peyton Hillis is the Browns biggest threat. That and Colt McCoy, they are moving in the right direction. That being said, it's the Browns.

Bengals - Nothing good to say. Ochocinco is gone. Palmer never stepped up. They are the biggest mess in the NFL.

Browns 30, Bengals 7
