The Hot Seat

It is that time of the year where coaches get fired. Here an analysis in every coach. The levels are Super Cold, Cold, Warm, Hot, Red Hot.

Arizona Cardinal-Ken Whisenhunt-Warm

Since 2007, Ken Whisenhunt has been the Cardinal head coach and brought them to a Superbowl in 2008. In 2009 they went back to the playoffs but that was with Kurt Warner. Since then they've sucked and this seat has been slowly getting warmer.

Atlanta Falcons-Mike Smith-Cold

Despite the Falcons slow start this year, this seat is safe. Mike Smith has been consistently good.

Baltimore Ravens-John Harbaugh-Super Cold

Everyone knows the Ravens are good and every year John Harbaugh keeps bringing them to the playoffs. The only thing warm about this seat though is they don't show up every game (most recently the monday night Jaguar game.)

Buffalo Bills-Chan Gailey-Cold

Only the second year as the Bills coach and so much improvement for a team that has been bad since the 90s. Chan has made them in to a Playoff  spot contending team, and made Ryan Fitzpatrick a Franchise QB.

Carolina Panthers-Ron Rivera-Cold

The new coach of the panthers and he has already doubled their record from last year. The Panthers still need much improvement, but he is heading them in the right direction.

Chicago Bears-Lovie Smith-Warm

Every year he is in a hot seat. But Why? He consistently brings a good team and brought them to the Superbowl with Rex Grossman as the QB.

Cincinnati Bengals-Marvin Lewis-Cold

Marvin Lewis has been the coach for the Bengals since 2003. In that time he has almost a .500 record. The past few years they have been disappointing but this year with Andy Dalton as QB they have a winning record.

Cleveland Browns-Pat Shurmur-Cold

Pat Shurmur is the new coach for the Browns. Last year he was the Rams offensive coordinator and helped bring a team from 1-15 to 7-9, when he left they went 0-6. He was a good pickup and should be the coach they need.

Dallas Cowboys-Jason Garret-Cold

Wade Phillips was a bad coach and Jason Garret took over in 2010. They still need improvements but he is making Romo and the team into men.

Denver Broncos-John Fox-Cold

John Fox took over this year but not much seems approved. If the Broncos don't look good he may be there for two years.

Detroit Lions-Jim Shwartz-Super Cold

One of the teams who've been bad for decades has become good. Jim Shwartz is on track for coach of the year.

Green Bay Packers-Mike McCarthy-Super Cold

A seat can not get colder. Anytime you win the Superbowl you have the safest job in the NFL.

Houston Texans-Gary Kubiak-Cold

Since 2006 Gary has been the Coach but they haven't made the playoffs. That doesn't mean they aren't good and this may be the first year they make the playoffs.

Indianapolis Colts-Jim Caldwell-Warm

Losing your star QB for a year is an excuse to do bad but the Colts have been horrible (just lost 62-7 versus the Saints). And let's not lie, since Tony Dungy left the team has been slowly going down.

Jacksonville Jaguars-Jack Del Rio-Hot

Jack Del Rio has been the coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars for sometime now but they never amounted to anything. His recent win against Baltimore has bought him time but if he doesn't have a winning season he should be fired at the season.

Kansas City Chiefs-Todd Haley-Cold

Last year the Chiefs went to the playoffs. This year they had a tough start but Todd Haley stopped shaving and they started winning. Superstitions much?

Miami Dolphins-Tony Sparano-Red Hot

Tony has been coach since 2008 and in it has gotten worse every year. He just blew a 15 point lead in three minutes to the Broncos. If he loses this week expect the first firing if the season. Also quick note; Bush was a bust once again.

Minnesota Vikings-Leslie Frazier-Cold

The Vikings don't look great but a new coach is usually safe.

New England Patriots-Bill Belichick-Super Cold

The Patriots have been the best team of the 2000s and Bill is one of the most tenured coachs in the league. He will never have a reason to worry here.

New Orleans Saints-Sean Payton-Super Cold

Sean took over in 2006, a year after Hurricane Katrina. The Saints were a mess but he made them into a Superbowl winning team. This year they may be the best team besides the Packers.

New York Giants-Tom Coughlin-Warm

Yes they won a Superbowl but recently they haven't look so good. He'll be safe for the rest of the year but depending on how the Giants play the rest of the season, a hot seat will be on next year.

New York Jets-Rex Ryan-Super Cold

Two back to back AFC Championship appearances and one of the best coaches in the league, you'd got to be crazy to think he is not the guy for J-E-T-S fans.

Oakland Raiders-Hue Jackson-Cold

Hue has really turned this team around. In a few years under him, they can be Superbowl contending.

Philadelphia Eagles-Andy Reid-Warm

A so called 'Dream Team' mad him look like a jerk this year even if he told his team to stop. Micheal Vick's performance this year makes Andy under question about his decision making.

Pittsburgh Steelers-Mike Tomlin-Cold

Mike Tomlin had big shoes to fill after Bill Cowher's departure but he did just that. He is a great coach.

San Diego Chargers-Norv Turner-Warm

Rex Ryan stated that if he was the Chargers coach he would of one multiple Superbowls already. Guess what! He's probably right. Norv Turner will never bring them where they want to be. They need a better coach.

San Francisco 49ers-Jim Harbaugh-Super Cold

He is having the best rookie coach season of the season. The 49ers are 5-1 and winning for the first time in a long time.

Seattle Seahawks-Pete Carrol-Cold

Pete Carrol is a horrible pro coach. But for some reason it seems like Seattle loves him.

St. Louis Rams-Steve Spagnola-Hot

A lockout, multiple injuries, and the hardest opening schedule in the NFL gives Steve some good excuses. Don't expect him on the chopping block until next year.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Raheem Morris-Cold

This is a team with many expectations but it may not be there year for the playoff. Raheem Morris may have to wait another year.

Tennessee Titans-Mike Munchak-Cold

Jeff Fisher has been there forever but this year Mike Munchak took over and the team is competitive and Matt Hasselback is being revived.

Washington Redskins-Mike Shanahan-Cold

The only questions he really is facing, "Why hire your son?" and "Can't you figure out a QB already?".
