Cardinal 23, Rams 20
For the second time in three weeks the Arizona Cardinals played the St. Louis Rams. Though the points were a little higher the second time around both games were almost identical. In the beginning of both games the Rams had a small lead but blew it in the end. In both games rookie Patrick Peterson ran for over 80 yards on a punt return. But the main difference in this game was the return of RB Beanie Wells who did not play in the first game.
FIRST QUARTER
The Rams got the ball first but punted it away to the Cardinals, trying to keep it away from Peterson (but as slow as their offense has been it looked a little better this week). Not having QB Kevin Kolb in for the fourth week, backup QB John Skelton took center stage and after only one first down the Cardinals punted it to newly signed Punt Returner Nick Miller, who returned a touchdown and favor giving the Rams a seven point lead. After some possessions the Cardinals finally got close enough and kicked a field goal by Kicker Jay Feeley.
Rams 7, Cardinal 3
SECOND QUARTER
The Cardinals and Rams played back and forth as they just kept giving the ball back. With just a couple of minutes left the Rams received and went 63 yards to kick a field by Josh Brown and go up by seven.
Rams 10, Cardinals 3
THIRD QUARTER
The Cardinals received first and went 61 yards to make Jay Feely's second field goal and bring to within four. But the Rams could not answer. Shortly after Beanie who already over 100 yards scored a touchdown for the lead. But the Rams could not answer again and punted it Patrick Peterson who returned the punt for 80 yards and a touchdown.
Cardinals 20, Rams 10
FOURTH QUARTER
The Rams (who only scored one game with more than sixteen points this season) did not give up. After just two plays in, Josh Brown kicked his second field goal to bring it within a touchdown. A couple of drives later the Rams again went down the field but this time with a touchdown from QB Sam Bradford to WR Brandon Lloyd tying the game. But the next possession the Cardinals went down for another good Jay Feely kick sealing the victory.
Cardinal 23, Rams 20
Cardinals Pro - Patrick Peterson's punt return for 80 yards and Beanie Wells who rushed for over 200 yards.
Cardinals Con - The offensive line let pressure come from the Rams all day to John Skelton.
Rams Pro - The pass defense kept WR Larry Fitzgerald from being a factor.
Rams Con - While the Rams have the eighth best pass defense, their rush defense is last as Beanie Wells ran all over them.
