Moshe Fooball is listing the warmth of each and every seat of the NFL coaches. There are seven rankings from Ice Cold, Cold, Chill, Neutral, Warm, Hot, Red Hot, with Ice Cold being the least likely of any tension in their job security.
1) Andy Reid - Kansas City Chiefs - Ice Cold - Andy Reid took the Chiefs from worst to one of the top tier teams last year. The Chiefs are very happy with what Reid brought to the table last year as their wasn't much turnover regarding player personnel.
2) Bill Belichick - New England Patriots - Ice Cold - Bill Belichick has the most job security than any other coach in the NFL. To think otherwise would be borderline ludicrous. The only way Belichick would depart from the Patriots is if he leaves them.
3) Bill O'Brien - Houston Texans - Ice Cold - O'Brien is taking over head coaching duties for the Texans after coaching Penn State. He will be inheriting a very talented team that can win their division right away.
4) Jay Gruden - Washington Redskins - Ice Cold - The brother of Jon Gruden is the new coach for the Redskins. Obviously as a first year coach his job is pretty safe. The only thing going against him is the fact that Redskin fans have been pretty tireless with Mike Shanahan's failure's the last few seasons and want results right away
5) Jim Caldwell - Detroit Lions - Ice Cold - Former Indianapolis head coach Jim Caldwell is taking over duties of Jim Schwartz. Lions fans will be happy to see a new coach after so much potential failed from their last one. Jim Caldwell might have gotten a little bit of a early departure from the Colts and will be happy to prove himself with this talented team.
6) John Fox - Denver Broncos - Ice Cold - John Fox has lead the Broncos to first place in the AFC West each of his first three seasons as coach and took them to the Superbowl last year despite a embarrassment in it last year. This seat is anything but cold.
7) Ken Whisenhunt - Tennessee Titans - Ice Cold - Ken Whisenhunt is back in the the driver's seat but this time with the Titans. After controlling the Offense for the Chargers last season Whisenhunt is ready to take the Titans the extra steps they have been missing the past few years.
8) Lovie Smith - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Ice Cold - Lovie Smith is one of the more talented coaches in the league. Chicago may have made a mistake letting him go, but Tampa is very happy to take him in.
9) Mike Pettine - Cleveland Browns - Ice Cold - Mike Pettine just got hired by the Browns after being the Defensive Coordinator for the Bills last year. Pettine is a new coach and will have no pressure in his first year. His biggest problem will be the QB competition and media hype surrounding Johnny Football.
10) Mike Zimmer - Minnesota Vikings - Ice Cold - Mike Zimmer is the new coach of the Minnesota Vikings. While the Vikings aren't the most talented of teams they are good enough that a push in the right direction can take them back to the playoffs. The Vikings hope Zimmer is that guy.
11) Pete Caroll - Seattle Seahawks - Ice Cold - Pete Carroll just brought the Seahawks their first Superbowl win. There is nothing that will make this job insecure.
12) Bruce Arians - Arizona Cardinals - Cold - Bruce Arians did a great job leading the Arizona Cardinals in his first year. He took the Cardinals from last place in the division of 5-11 to 10-6. However, in the tough NFC, and even tougher NFC West, 10-6 isn't good enough to make the playoffs. However, Arizona is deeply pleased with Arians approach and it would take a catastrophic collapse for this seat to even get hot.
13) Chip Kelly - Philidelphia Eagles - Cold - Chip did a great job in his first year with the Eagles. The Eagles went 10-6 winning their division. His job is more than safe. The Eagles are primed to retake the NFC East.
14) Chuck Pagano - Indianapolis Colts - Cold - Chuck has had an interesting time with the Colts after being diagnosed with cancer in his first season. Thankfully, Pagano's cancer went into remission. Bruce Arians took over as interim coach in the first season and a big part (if not the biggest) of why the Colts went 11-5. The next year Pagano took the Colts to an AFC South title and an 11-5 record, removing doubt. The Colts are poised to win the South once again.
15) Jim Harbaugh - San Francisco 49ers - Cold - Harbaugh has brought the 49ers to the NFC Championship game for three years in a row, and even once to the Supebowl. However, he still hasn't won the big one, and with the Seahawks just hoisting the Lombardi Trophy, the 49er fans are on the wrong side of this rivalry.
16) John Harbaugh - Baltimore Ravens - Cold - They had a mediocre season last year missing the playoffs and Joe Flacco's contract seems to be ruining this team in the long run. However, they did just win the Superbowl two years ago, and any rebuilding they need to do, John Harbaugh is the guy to do it.
17) Marc Trestman - Chicago Bears - Cold - Former CFL head coach Marc Trestman got the Chicago gig last year after the departure of Lovie Smith. The Bears ended the season 8-8 missing the playoffs. Trestman will feel no job insecurity this upcoming season.
18) Marvin Lewis - Cincinnati Bengals - Cold - Marvin Lewis is one of the most tenured coaches in the NFL currently. While most of the his seasons as head coach seemed to have had mediocre results, the last three seasons saw the Bengals making the playoffs. Even with some early exits in the playoffs this seat seems to get colder by the minute. Not all NFL coaches take their respective teams to the big dance but sometimes teams take the safer root and go with the coach they think has the best option of taking them there.
19) Mike McCarthy - Green Bay Packers - Cold - Mike McCarthy's seat is pretty safe. Even with Aaron Rodgers hurt for a good portion of the season last year, Mike was still able to get the Packers to 1st place in the NFC North. However, there are some clear holes in the Packers' defense that McCarthy needs to regard.
20) Mike McCoy - San Diego Chargers - Cold - Mike McCoy took the San Diego Chargers to the playoffs in his first season with a 9-7 record. The AFC is the weaker of the two conferences but that is still an impressive feat for a first time head coach. Charger fans will be eager to see what he can bring to the table once again.
21) Sean Payton - New Orleans Saints - Cold - Sean Payton helped bring New Orleans' only NFL championship title. After coming back from sometime away due to the bounty scandal the Saints made the playoffs with an 11-5 record. The bounty scandal remains to be the only true blemish on Payton's time with the Saints
22) Doug Marrone - Buffalo Bills - Chill - Doug Marrone failed to take the Bills out of mediocrity with a 6-10 season in his first NFL head coaching job. However, the Bills showed a strong showing in the beginning of the season, beating both Carolina and Baltimore. This seat will stay chill for awhile as the Bills will give Marrone time to develop this team a little more.
23) Mike Smith - Atlanta Falcons - Chill - In his six years of coaching the Falcons, Mike Smith lead Atlanta to five winning seasons, and four postseasons. However, last year, Atlanta went 4-12 and last place in the NFC South despite being more talented than that. While this seat is still moderately cold, with last year's results, and Mike Smith's lack of success to take Atlanta to the big stage, this seat could get warm quickly with a slow opening to the upcoming season.
24) Joe Philbin - Miami Dolphins - Neutral - Miami has been mediocre the past few years even before Joe Philbin came in as the Head Coach. A lot of hype came before last season as Miami had a "Big" free agency. That season resulted in an .500 season. This can get cold or warm really quickly depending on how the beginning of this upcoming season goes.
25) Jeff Fisher - St. Louis Rams - Neutral - Jeff Fisher right now is very reminiscent of Pete Carroll. Fisher is controlling a very young, talented, and undisciplined team that has brought the Rams two mediocre seasons. Another mediocre season won't hurt Fisher in St. Louis too much but after this season, both fans and Stan Kreonke will want results.
26) Mike Tomlin - Pittsburgh Steelers - Neutral - Mike Tomlin took the Steelers to the promise land once in his career, but that was back in the 2008 season. The last two seasons, the aging Steelers went 8-8. Pittsburgh will want results.
27) Ron Rivera - Carolina Panthers - Neutral - This seat got warm after the 2012-2013 season when the Panthers went 7-9 after the fact of going 6-10 the year before. With a slow start last season there were talks that the Ron Rivera might be let go, but after turning the season quickly around the talks fizzled. However, Rivera will need to prove that he can once again bring this talented team the playoff or the next season this seat might be a little warm.
28) Gus Bradley - Jacksonville Jaguars - Warm - Gus Bradley only coached the Jaguars one season, but it was a pretty bad season early that gained little traction towards the end. After a 4-12 season, something worse can be Bradley's last with the Jaguars.
29) Tom Coughlin - New York Giants - Warm - There were talks last year about this seat being warm despite beating the Patriots in the Superbowl two years prior to the middle of last season. Being in New York comes with some of the most media scrutiny and they is seemingly mediocre in the weak NFC East.
30) Jason Garrett - Dallas Cowboys - Hot - Jason Garrett has coached the Cowboys for four seasons now and has not coached them to a winning season. With being in possibly the easiest division in the NFL, not all the blame can actually go on Garrett as the owner/GM Jerry Jones is pretty bad with the latter duties. However, a bad season this year and it will probably be the last we see of Garrett with the Cowboys.
31) Rex Ryan - New York Jets - Hot - Rex was on the red hot seat last year with many believing it would be his last. By going 8-8 and doing much better than expected the Jets are giving him another year to prove his worth. However, with the circus that is the New York Jets this can end badly.
32) Dennis Allen - Oakland Raiders - Red Hot - This seat is red. While two years is a short time, the past two years have been underwhelming at best with back to back 4-12 seasons. The Raiders will want results fast or they will go a different way.
